PLEDGE TO AMERICA

Well Trickle down Liberal POV! Spend, spend, and spend some more is that the answer?
What this bill did accomplish was to desensitize the American public to huge future expenditures being formulated by the Democrat administration. This is how you eat an elephant: One bite at a time. No longer are we worried about a trifle like attempting to balance the budget or even use anachronistic terms like "fiscal responsibility". We are behaving like a family with an income of $40K contemplating a mortgage for a million dollar house. Excuse me, but that is exactly what got us into this mess in the first place. We are now desensitized to the point where a $900 billion "economic stimulus" bill doesn't seem so bad.
Although this crushing debt is mind-numbing, there is no end in sight. The true cost of bailouts and stimulus (the "elephant") will probably reach $7.5 trillion, according to government sources. This is equivalent to every man, woman, and child in this country taking out a $25,000 loan. As Kansas US representative Todd Tiahrt put it, referring to the bailout bill, "This is a plan crafted by Washington insiders to give money we cannot afford to greedy people who live the lifestyle of the rich and famous."
Since I know you didn't search for it Liberal POV here is "What caused the recession in their own words"...Only watch if you can stop the koolade from spilling....
During the great Depression 22.5% of the people in our area of western NC were on relief.
We need our infrastructure update, we need a Mass Transportation System that's the best in the world with High speed rail connecting major urban areas and light rail connecting small towns, Express buses on time and often. We have to stop depending on foreign oil.
Doing nothing as you suggest will result in joblessness increasing and will continue to sore perhaps to the 22.5 % range. Homes will continue to fall into foreclosure with no one with money to buy. We will have American citizen idled by unemployment and still need the infrastructure update and our needing to be competitive. Your plan calls for decrease in education funding because of reduced local tax base, increase in crime because police forces are reduced and the population become more desperate, drug and alcohol increase, prison and jail populations will increase cost more money. In the end The government will spend or have a loss in tax revenue greater than the stimulus package and no improvements to our country.
The examples I have used here several times of successful projects are Eisenhower's Interstate Highway project and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway is still a treasure build in hard times with deficit spending and provided desperately needed jobs to the 22.5% on relief in this area and revenue to the people of Appalachia. The Blue Ridge parkway investment decades ago still pays dividends to our economy decades later.
Had this been a tax cut for the wealthy we would not have this treasure and our community would not be what it is today. Lowes Hardware likely would not be. Although in trouble much of the banking success in Charlotte came from technology of Northwestern Bank in North Wilkesboro. Northwestern Bank had banks along the path of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Sparta, Jefferson, Boone, Avery Cty, Spruce Pine and Ashville. How would that have changed? Republicans need some vision supplements in their diet.
The Video goes back to 1998 and 1977. Did we forget about Bush and Reagan years? In 1998 Republicans had control of congress and banking congressional committees. Videos pieced together like this often don't have a date reference point but at lease one of these had the date of 1998.
The figure used in the video was 2.1 billion dollars how did it get to trillions of dollars?
I keep asking and you keep dodging this question.
If the problem is the admin of Clinton and Carter trying to help low income people buy a home. Why aren't FHA, Creit Unions, Community Banks or BB&T in the same boat? Why are the banks that are in trouble the same banks that worked with Wall Street to market a scheme to put customers mortages where they struggled to make payments incuring late fees and increasing interest rates to 14%. Country Wide, Citi Bank where amoung these banks. It was for greed of higher bank profits not sound banking or government forced programs. Why do you keep dodging this issue wanting to blame the victims of this high powered marketing?
If I could, I would put this quote from Oatz's comment on every blog and newspaper in America.
"The Wall Street Journal correctly labeled this (Pelosi/Obama) nonsense, a “political” stimulus bill, or, in other words, a “40-Year Wish List” for Democratic interest groups. A lot of people are waking up and understanding this truth.
Meanwhile it is a good quote to send to our Senators. Pelosi/Obama are going to work hard at convincing the American people that Republican opposition is just being partisan. No, we are trying to save this country from destruction!
It's just that your Leader has been rolling gutter balls since he got there. Even trying to enter the Oval Office through a window instead of the door.
Liberal, linked to the other post, you keep asking us what our core values are. We answer you over and over, but because you may suffer from what is known as tunnel vision, you can’t hear us.
We really wanted to take a break and respond to the desire of some Americans to work across the aisles. But now how can we, when the very basic foundation of our system is being undermined? Against our desire, it has been thrust upon us to take up the mantle of our free enterprise system and defend it against European Socialism.
Anyway, free enterprise and the freedom it brings is a core value. Can you live with that?
Freedom and Free enterprise would also be core values of Democrats.
It must be in the details of who pays for schools, roads, military, social security, and helping all Americans have access to the American dream we disagree on.
Is there details in the Republican point of view you don't want to post?
How about a Republican budget for the single mom making $8.00 per hour. Please tell us how the Republican will help her.
OK LPOV, how is it that "trickle down" economics doesn't work when Republicans let the rich keep the money they have earned, but WILL work when the lefties give everyone's money to the rich bankers, insurance companies and car companies.
I'd rather have "trickle down" than "Flooding Up" economics.
Bill Gates is a good example, he did earn his money and he did it by creating something the world needed not taking it from investors life saving.
Today Gate understands the phrase to "whom much is give much is expected". Gates has foundations that are donating over a Billion dollars to social justice causes. Gates gets it and I believe a big Obama supporter. Gate paid his employees a living wage and created a pay structure for his employees to share the wealth of Microsoft.

Guys, did you hear Putin yesterday sounding the alarm that America was heading too fast towards government ownership of its industries. Yes, Putin.

Also, the Iranian government is rubbing Obama's nose in his own offering of friendship to the Holocaust deniers.

Don't try to change the subject.
We are discussing the Republican Non plan of more tax cuts for the rich.

You really believe the supper rich earned their money? Like those that just got 18.4 billion dollars for losing half the world's wealth?
Do you believe in the Easter Bunny also?
Go ask Bill Gates.
Your bigotry is repulsive.
Class warfare is a Marxist tactic that you lefties have taken as your own to gain power by dividing Americans thru envy and lies.
One of the Seven Deadly sins.....Envy.
