In our whole history, we probably have never had a party and their president so out of touch with the American people as today's Democrats. Worse, they don’t even care.

20% believe the trillion-dollar stimulus worked. 43% even believe it hurt.
69% to 15% margin, voters believe tax cuts are a better way to create jobs rather than more government spending. Just 28% of voters believe increased government spending is good for the economy
53% of Americans still think the federal government bailout of General Motors and Chrysler approved by the Democrat Congress was a bad idea. (Wait until they see the $41,000 plus electric car the government made GM develop and which no one will want.)

It is not just that the $41,000.00 car is unwanted, the batteries are made in another country,and it takes energy that is probably generated by burning fossil fuels to charge the batteries, but the government is having to give a $7,500 rebate to get people to look at it. Eventually the batteries will go bad and have to be disposed of, causing another environmental hazard. If we are going to have electric cars, then we should reap the benefits, not some other country. We will certainly reap the liabilities caused by these cars.

No wonder the citizens of this country are going to throw out the out of touch politicians. However, in all fairness, a few of these politicians are RINOs or liberal Republicans.

Union pensions are run by the unions, not GM. The money is in a separate account run by the UAW. If GM went under the existing pensions would not be affected. Whether or not the UAW is HONEST enough to run the pension is a different question.
So if GM went under their pensions would not be affected.
BUT, even if their pensions were tied directly to GM they should not have been bailed out by the gov't. They made bad decisions and should pay for it. GM would have been broken up and the viable parts would be bought up and used for a new, profit making enterprise.

Republicans believe that more tax cuts, more guns, longer prison sentences, more religion and more war will fix all problems.
