Cullie's Ad Says He Cut Three Billion. More Like, He Raised It Three Billion

Regarding his ad’s claim that he cut three billion dollars from the budget, Cullie Tarlton is an outright liar. These were the words of one of Tarlton’s fellow representatives in the Assembly with whom I spoke the other day at his home. “The truth is more like he added to the budget by three billion.”

That evening in the meeting of the Watauga County Republicans Mens Group, candidate for the NC House of Representatives Jonathan Jordan explained to us how Cullie Tarlton fudges the data. Explained Jordan:

“One way the Democrats count as a cut to the state budget is when we receive one-time federal bailout funds that are used to take the place of current state funds. For example, when we get $1 billion of federal bailout funds, they can claim a $1 billion cut to the state budget. That's because the federal money is used to backfill the state budget and state funds can go elsewhere.”

Jordan continued with a second illustration. A child goes into a toy store and makes a list of all the many toys he wants. Naturally, the parents make him pare it way down. The child can then claim that he has saved his parents all that money. That is a cut according to Tarlton.

It never ceases to amaze me at how much that bastard spends on ANY socialist/leftist/econazi/sobstory program some idiot mentions to him.

A little off topic, but the letter from Sheriff Hageman to the Commissioners is posted on the Sheriff's race thread.

Uh, I'm not a Republican.

Still not paying attention huh?

And I suppose that Tarleton's spending of our grandkids incomes, turning them into debt slaves of the state is nice?

Uh....
I am not a Republican either...but I will vote for Jordan and Soucek this year and for the 3 Republicans running for County Commission (Blust, Gable and Miller)....

I received a mailer from the Tarleton campaign today....he claims he is an 'Independent voice'.

NOT ONE TIME did he mention he was a Democrat. I guess he is embarrassed about it. (The fine print DOES say that the mailer was paid for by the Dem Party)

I don't think Goss and Tarleton are bad people. But, I do think we can do better and, after over 100 years of a democrat controlled Senate, I think it's time for a change.
