Reid’s Rules Scheme Defeated in the Senate

With all that has been going on this week, here is something Harry Reid was trying to pull that went under my radar. Maybe all of you were aware. I learned a lot from this article.
Reid Thwarted

Frankly, looking at the map for 2012, it isn’t too hard to figure out why (upholding filibuster rule). The Democrats are nervous about losing the Senate. A number of states are up for grabs. North Dakota looks like it will definitely switch to the GOP. Virginia is a strong possibility. Already, the GOP is in fine shape to hold its own. Erick Erickson Red State

Blogger, the link did not work. Could you please fix it.

The filibuster scheme proposed by Reid needed to be defeated. This is good. What is not good is the fact Hussein Obama is going to make a platform on gun control in the upcoming weeks. Republicans freshly elected to office are not really saying much which has me worried. Republicans had better realize why they are there.

We do indeed need to keep the filibuster as an option, no mater who is in power.

It should be hard to pass any law. All laws limit people's actions. Sometimes these actions need limiting, but many times they do not. The need for such limitations has to be thoroughly debated before passing any legislation. A filibuster is a good way to focus on the con side of any bill.

I my opinion it would be a good idea to have a requirement that two laws had to be repealed before another law can be passed.

Reid isn't the only dolt in the Senate.

The three branches are the Executive, The Legislative, and the judicial, you idiot.

We're several days into the changing world in the middle east.

Do want to acknowledge this historic moment or keep posting silly non isuses pettiness?

What does the conservative world think of this new found freedom in the Middle East and the future of dictatorships there?

Like I often post her conservative like the word freedom as a slogan but don't alway seem that happy when its practiced.

What a stupid statement. You need to remove the "we" from your arcane statement. You sound like an imperialist with that type of trash talk. And you say us conservatives have a limited view of the world? Like usual, look no further than your pathetic selves for the problem (and solution). Idiots. The Egyptians will or won't do the job. Hussein Obama and the rest of the mutts in DC can't even figure out how to remove American tourists from Egypt, much less influence a regime change (remember Honduras a couple years back when Hussein O. chose oppression over freedom?)

Then you go on to say:

"Do want to acknowledge this historic moment or keep posting silly non isuses pettiness?"

You HOPE it will be an historic moment. Like the Tucson shooting, you are jumping to conclusions before all the facts are known. My bet is Egypt will get more of the same. A good analogy would be Hussein Obama replacing Jimmy Carter - the end result being more stupidity.

We all hope the Muslims will break free of religious extremism and totalitarianism, however the chances of this occuring are rather small. You see, politics on the middle east share equal space with religious clerics. The return of the Muslim Caliphate drives much of what occurs in Mesopatamia today, as always. Because you keep your head in the sand most of the time, you fail to realize the very protestors you support are not working toward your traditional ideas of freedom

Instead, they are working towards some pie in the sky Muslim utopia seeking to restore Arabs to their former primary spot in the world (hence the Caliphate. Try learning a bit about the Muslims before branding the situation with your personal view of what you want to happen (like the Tucson shootings).

LOL!! That ought to burn you a bit. LOL!!

I figured the Liberal Socialist Sheep POVs wouldn't want to touch that one. These idiots have no idea what side they are on in the Middle East as both sides represent ideas they supposedly hate. LOL!!!
