Another Example Of How Unions Lose Supporters

Members of Wisconsin State Employees Union, AFSCME Council 24, have begun circulating letters to businesses in southeast Wisconsin, asking them to support workers’ rights by putting up a sign in their windows.
If businesses fail to comply, the letter says, “Failure to do so will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means 'no' to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members."

Next we will have each political party boycotting any business which doesn't give to their candidates.
"Put This Candidates Poster In Your Window Or We Will Boycott You".

Where does this end? I probably purchase half my purchases from businesses that support Democrats....Should I boycott them?

The Watch is proposing this kind of thing about Chick-Fil-A. They are censoring opposing views as usual.

You can pay a little money under the table to Vito and that problem will disappear.

The Obama administration is threatening our kids and us now. They say if we cut any spending that 70,000 kids will die. Sounds like a threat to me.

This is exactly the reason the Wisconsin Governor is busting the unions. If they can do this in front of the public, just think of how tough collective bargaining must be at the state level out of public view. These unions have far too much power. For the good of the country, all unions should be abolished. Perhaps then we could get some of the manufacturing jobs back from overseas that we lost due to UNIONS. UNIONS HAVE TO GO!!!!!

Looks like we will have our own version right here in good old North Carolina!

From Today's N&O

It seems to be a tactic of liberals to want to punish anyone who exercises their rights to voice political opinions or to contribute to political causes when the libs don't like the opinion or the cause.

I don't recall conservatives 'boycotting' contributors to democratic campaigns - does anyone?

I am going to go down to Chick-Fil-A and think about this over lunch today. Are there any Art Pope store around where I could get in a little shopping?

Any liberal socialist lemmings (povs) want to take a shot at the title this weekend. Go ahead, it will hurt for sure, but what the heck, you idiots have been on the losing end for some time now!! LOL!!!

You have to wonder if the people behind this sort of tactic think that they are winning average people to their side?

I imagine it makes the union people feel better but it also solidifies the opposition and my guess is that it pushes the people in the middle away from the unions.

New Guy, it is all rhetoric. Educators are going to shop where it is most convenient and they get teh best buys. They are lying, even to themselves.

If it is decided that public service unions are to continue to have collective bargaining rights, then they should be restricted from making any kind of campaign contributions or endorsing candidates, just like tax-exempt organizations. At least that way those who must vote on their wages and benefits won’t be obligated to them. Without something like this, collective bargaining for public employees simply cannot be tolerated without basic continuing corruption of the system.

As long as government continues to write so many laws, unions and businesses will have to lobby and pay to protect their interests. The government is creating the corruption.
