Thanks for the Gibson Guitar thread. I was out of country last week and was unable to access email. I did leave several comments on the thread. I don't seem to see any commentary by our two idiots, Yack and POV, and I just wanted to make sure they know we know they are dodging an issue affecting liberals. LOL!!

Has anyone noticed that the Watauga County Courthouse now has metal detectors and ONE entrance? Why am I being treated as a common criminal for accessing the registrar of deeds or tax office which is not a court?

Johnny Rico said...

Metal detectors at the courthouse - this means the public is the enemy, right? Over a hundred years of freedom to access our courthouse and now something has changed which warrants I must be searched for weapons that I should be able to carry into that building anyway? What changed? What event or threat makes it necessary for this intrusion into my personal life?

Johnny Rico said...

Was it Judge Phill Ginn who authorized the metal detectors? If so, why no outcry from either side of the aisle?

Johnny Rico said...

Where did we come up with the money to pay deputies to man the metal detectors? I thought we were in a recession? Are these deputies being taken from patrol duties to search innocent American citizens for weapons they should be able to carry anyway?

Accessing the mapping department, clerk of court, taxing office, tax mapping or registrar of deeds now requires screening? Are the county workers now better than the rest of us for some reason. What is that reason?

More control of the sheeple, little by little, until no more is left. Won't be long until movie theatres and malls will have the same thing. If this is what America has devolved into, then you idiots deserve it.

The Grandfather Mountain National Scenic Area has made headlines again in the Mountain Times. Liberal retired ranger Randy Johnson wrote a piece trying to convince other liberals on why we need this scenic area. Of particular note were the comments he lifted from this blog regarding why many of us don't want, or need, the Grandfather Mountain Scenic Area.

Are you listening County Commissioners? Randy Johnson read this blog and used our comments to try and push for lawmaking at the FEDERAL LEVEL. Why aren't you taking our comments telling you RINOs that we want a right to hunt, trap, fish and shoot amendment presented to the NC Legislature for a vote?

If Johnson takes us seriously enough to print our comments in a widely read rag, then how come you won't do the same by recommending a bill to the NC Legislature?

You folks need to start DOING SOMETHING. Liberals like Johnson are certainly doing something. Liberals like Pelosi and Obama are doing something. RINOs are doing nothing. How about gaining back some of the rights we lost under past liberal administrations? The metal detector in the court house is a prime example of a liberal DOING SOMETHING.

As if the GOP gave a rat's ass about jobs. They're too busy singling out a group of people to discriminate against in our state's constitution. Why aren't you posting about that? Where's your story and defense on that? Afraid you'll look like a bigot?

Anonymous, you need to either pay attention or get some help with your comprehension. The issue to which you refer is for a change to the state's constitution supported by both parties. This makes it bipartisan. As a civil union and a marriage is only a difference in semantics, there is no discrimination.

I do not care what you call it, but some on both sides of the isle do.

Both Antonymous's (Liberalproverbs18;2) post and this one should be moved to the vent page or deleted as they have nothing to do with the topic of the thread.

guy, afraid to have my post here, huh? Okay, if you want to call it bi-partisan bigotry, have at. It's your Party that has singled out a group of people for constitutional discrimination, and you have no excuse for it, and this blog is afraid to even put it up as a top story because you all know it is outright bigotry. We already have one man-one woman marriage recognition in this state. What this amendment will do is take away the rights of gays to domestic violence protection and the ability to designate their partners in their wills, among many other things. What a shame. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Book Details Dissension in Obama Economic Team
By MARK LANDLER
Published: September 15, 2011

WASHINGTON — A new book claims that President Obama’s response to the economic crisis was hampered by a White House economic staff plagued by internal rivalries, a domineering chief adviser and a Treasury secretary who dragged his feet on enforcing decisions with which he disagreed.///

That's Bush's fault...

Johnny Rico said...

How will Hussein Obama navigate his way free of the current serious scandals? First is Fast and Furious which is growing each day as more and more documents and statements are uncovered. More recently we have the scandal involving billions given to a solar company that promptly went bankrupt. How does one go bankrupt with billions upon billions of dollars?

Not a peep from the liberals on either one of these scandals. I wonder why they never talk about them.

My bet is Hussein Obama will use Chicago-style political tactics to offline, deceive, refute, and ignore most of the accusations. If he does this long enough, the short attention span of the American sheeple will kick in and he will win. It will be interesting to see though.

The liberals are again pushing the Grandfather Mountain National Scenic Area. Why do they need protections on a National Forest that already has strict protections against logging, road building and just about anything else? I can only think they took a lesson out of the Blowing Rock Land Grab playbook in which Virginia Foxx colluded with local town council representatives to protect the views of said representatives and end hunting.

As Randy Johnson said in the recent Mountain Times article, rules and regulations for a scenic area is written for each specific scenic area. This means hunting, shooting, and trapping could be banned in the scenic area very easily as it was done during the Blowing Rock Land Grab.

And Johnson wonders why hunters, shooters, and trappers are concerned?

Contact your representative immediately and ask them to help defeat Grandfather Mountain Scenic Area legislation. We already have overly stringent rules in place for the Pisgah National Forest. More government regulation is not the way we need to proceed at this point.

Watauga County Commissioners: This is exactly why we need a right to hunt, shoot, and fish amendment in Watauga County. Some idiot killed a neighbors horse accidently which gives an elected official (County Sheriff) a reason to enact gun control on a population of people. Remember, Sheriff Len Hagamen tried very hard to outlaw Sunday bow hunting because he knows it will one day lead to Sunday gun hunting. When are you folks going to do something to protect the rights of Watauga County residents that are being stripped away daily? Read below for what is coming to Watauga County in the future:

By Trent Faris, SC Bureau Reporter
LANCASTER, SC (WBTV) - It's been nearly five weeks since Robbie and Julie Dunn had to bury their horse Pretty Girl after she was apparently shot from a back yard shooting range near their pasture.
Now Pretty Girl's death is sparking change in Lancaster.
"Who knew the life of that 25, 26 year old horse being taken may get something done to protect people in this county and I think that's what it's coming too," said Robbie Dunn.
Currently anyone in Lancaster can set up a target in their back yard, and fire away for target practice and nothing could be done to stop them.
Dunn shared with WBTV a rough draft proposal from Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile to change that old rule.
The new law would make it illegal for anyone to discharge a fire arm in Lancaster County unless it's a deputy using the weapon in the line of duty, a person hunting on land that the land owner has given permission to let that person hunt, or if a person was using the gun in self defense.
The Sheriff told WBTV that he hopes the new ordinance would keep people from being negligent with their firearms. He says he's not stopping people from legally using their firearms, he just wants people to be safe with them.
The proposal is due to be put forth at the next Lancaster County council meeting, but Robbie and Julie aren't stopping there. They've started a petition to back up the words.
They've placed petitions in several stores and restaurants in Lancaster.
"We all signed it before you knew it everybody had signed it nobody asked any questions just like that everyone's pretty much for it," said Michael Dial at 521 Bar-B-Q in Indian Land.
Now it's the waiting game for the proposed ordinance to be voted on and put into effect.
"You want it to happen yesterday you know, but if it take a little time to get it right then hey we'll give it that time," said Dunn.
As for the investigation into the death of Pretty Girl and whether or not the bullets did in fact come from that shooting range continues.
The Dunn's do plan on perusing a civil case against the owners of that back yard firing range.
