New River Behavioural Health Care - What's going on?

From the New River BHC website:
"It is with great sadness that I write this letter to tell you about changes that will affect your behavioral healthcare services. On September 9, 2011, New River Behavioral HealthCare will discontinue all services that we provide in Alexander, Caldwell, and McDowell counties. This change is necessary for us to continue to operate in today's climate of budget cuts and transformation in healthcare delivery."


Meanwhile....varying news sources are reporting of problems and possible closure of the facility. According to the Jeftferson Post (click here), there are some allegations involving Medicaid payments that are underway and that Mediaid funding will cease after October 4th.
