Statement Of New River CEO Patricia Andrews

Thanks to the Jefferson Post (Click here for download)

For nearly two weeks, New River Behavioral Healthcare CEO Pam Andrews has been unavailable for comment as the agency has navigated a financial crisis amid "credible allegations of fraud."

In a letter dated Oct. 12, Andrews has now answered those allegations.

We all need to keep in mind that an "allegation of fraud" is just that, an allegation. Let's be careful with some of the comments that are so casually accusing people of illegalities.

I, for one, am comfortable that the truth will come out and that whatever issues the audit finds will be dealt with appropriately.

To the New River CEO, Patricia Andrews. Where do we make the public records request for the NRSA Board minutes and financial statements?

To the Watauga County Manager. If the NRSA shared the financial statements with the NRSA Board and Commissioner Futrelle was the commissioner appointed to the NRSA Board, where is the County copy of the NRSA financial statement?

Another question for CEO Patricia Andrews and County Manager for Watauga County and County Commissioners. Where will the public records for the NRSA be stored after 10/31/2011? Has anyone taken possession of the files or is the shredder running?

New Guy, the terms "fraud", "corruption" and "malfeasance" have now been redefined and substituted with the Newspeak term "incompetence".

From George Orwell's 1984: "Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought?... Has it ever occurred to you, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?... The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact, there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinking-not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness."
This incompetence is so widespread lets call it "doublegoodplus uncompetence" and those who commit this incompetence "doublegoodplus uncompetence duckdoers"

Forgive me it has been a long week.

No need to apologize. You make some much-needed, common sense points.

And as O'Brien reminded Winston, sometimes 2+2 can equal 3 and sometimes 2+2 can equal 5.

So, "fraud" or "malfeasance" can be defined as "incompetence".

PLEASE get the name right, guys! Her name is Pamela Andrews, and in the papers she's been called everything from Patricia Andrews to Pam Williams.

NewGuy said...

You can probably understand the confusion over her name since she headed her statement:
"Statement of Patrica Andrews".

I guess we just assumed she knew - but thanks for the correction.

Her name is Patricia P. Andrews

More specifically, her name is Patricia Pamela Andrews who goes by Pam in informal scenarios.

Another example of the need to aggressively treat the split personality before it causes a $26 million dollar mental health agency with thousands of people affected to implode. Maybe shackles and chains can keep the two of them united.
