Lynn Mason Out - Jamie Leigh NEW BOONE MAYOR Pro-Tem

After swearing in Council members Lynne Mason and Andy Ball to new terms and Allan Scherlen to his first term on Town Council the new Council’s first order of business was to shake up the old structure by electing Jamie Leigh as mayor Pro-Tem. Council Member Lynne Mason who had held the position for some time was nominated by Council Member Rennie Brantz, then, in what appeared as a surprise move, Council Member Andy Ball nominated Jamie Leigh saying, “Council member Jamie Leigh has committed her unique insight, her professional expertise, and her fair judgment to this council.”  The Council voted 3 to 2 in favor of Ms. Leigh

Good. For far too long Lynn has garnished all of the power on the Council.

This certainly signals a change. It is difficult to see how things could get worse. Council meetings may be interesting in the future.
