Vent Page XXXII - A VENT PAGE OF LOW CALIBER

Whenever the number of posts on a vent page make it cumbersome to navigate, a new vent page is started. This is number THIRTY TWO  in our series. It is probably not the caliber of Vent Page that would command attention, but it should be sufficient for most people's everyday needs.

And, for those who prefer to keep their participation on vent pages hidden, it is easily concealable!

VENT PAGES are handy for posting of off-topic posts, rants, raves, rages, etc which might not be appropriate on other threads where adults are having serious discussions. Childish rant? Need to call another poster a name? Just feel like spouting off? Or even if you have something to say and there doesn't seem to be any other logical place to say it....THIS PAGE IS FOR YOU

And, while perhaps many would disagree - Sports Illustrated ranks Magic Johnson as the best player to ever wear number 32.

No other number has produced more top-end players, but Magic gets the nod for his five NBA championships and for revolutionizing the point guard position.

Runner-up: Jim Brown

Worthy of consideration: Marcus Allen, Steve Carlton, Julius Erving (ABA's Nets), Franco Harris, Sandy Koufax, Karl Malone, Shaquille O'Neal (Heat), O.J. Simpson, Bill Walton.

What's up with Ron Paul? He's ate one too many bowls of Froot Loops today. Good grief!

Sarkazein said...

Reader- I have long said the 128 pound Ron Paul morphs into a 367 pound Michael Moore when the subject turns to national defense.

Weakling and fat kid ridicule. Nice. It takes me right back to the elementary school playground.

Wolf's Head said...

When the weakling and fat kid is Michael Moore then ridicule is justified.

"Weakling and fat kid ridicule. Nice. It takes me right back to the elementary school playground."- MikeD

Which one were you?

guy faulkes said...

Any defense of Paul for the fact he has no effective national defense policies, MikeD?

This is what keeps me from supporting him.

Sarkazein said...

Ron Paul wants our military prepared for when the attacking Chinese or Russian sailing ships are spotted on our horizon.

Reader said...

I don't want wars, but Ron Paul's view is insane. Gingrich was good last night. You know, Santorum I would trust, but he seems to need more practice...if that makes sense. Perry, his ideas for congress is spot on. Gingrich is the one out front in terms of knowledge. They are still lacking something for me...I just can't put my finger on it.

Mike D. said...

Guy,

I am not a Ron Paul supporter either, but that's just my point. We can talk about his policies without playing the schoolyard bully.

guy faulkes said...

Why do you think a 128 pound man is a weakling? Have you ever seen men in this weight class fight? There are plenty of over 350 pound athletes that could not be called fat kids.

I do not know what Sark's analogy is except it indicates Paul and Moore are not usually the same type of person except on this issue.

The negative inference is your own, MikeD. It is certainly not mine. Sark will have to tell us what he meant (if he chooses to do so).

He may have been to defensive when he turned your negative connotation back at you be asking if you wee a weakling or a fat kid,

Mike D. said...

Or he may just think in those terms, Guy.

The RINO Republitards have done it again. Sold out their constituency for political expediency. I hope they lose and lose bad. I'll vote for Ron Paul or Michelle Bachman, but never for a RINO like Gingrich. Anyone who choses illegal aliens over American citizens is guilty of treason. Perhaps next year will be the year a third party emerges in this country (a conservative party).

Hussein Obama will likely win a 2nd term. The election is the Republicans to lose, and they are doing a fantastic job of it! It reminds me of when the republitards had the White House and Congress and did absolutly NOTHING to increase the liberty and freedom of Americans. They wasted it all! Worst of all, they haven't learned a lesson. I figured last year's elections would clue them in on our dissatisfaction with big government, but it didn't even make a dent.

Vote them all out. Replace with a new set and then vote them out too.

Let us see what Obama will do now the pipeline (quit stalling) bill will reach his desk. He swore (threatened) he wouldn't sign it. Does he back down, swear he never said it, veto it, pocket veto it, or something else? He painted himself into this corner.

Reader said...

"In a statement, White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer indicated Obama would sign the measure, saying it had met his test of "preventing a tax increase on 160 million hardworking Americans" and avoiding damage to the economy recovery."

Think his democrat buds threw him under the bus on this one?

His ratings continue to fall.

Sarkazein said...

Reader- Than it looks like Obama was, according to his spokesman, stalling the pipeline for political reasons.
Where's the angry Press?

Reader said...

His threat:
"First of all, any effort to try to tie Keystone to the payroll tax cut I will reject. So everybody should be on notice".

Guess he didn't want to miss that Christmas vacation. How can he justify his vacation costing around 1.5 million or so the Hawaiian media are reporting?

Sarkazein said...

Obama probably already has his advance team setting up a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Keystone Pipeline where he will take credit for it being built.

"Attorney General Eric Holder accused his growing chorus of critics of racist motivations in a Sunday interview published in the New York Times. When reached by The Daily Caller Monday morning, the Department of Justice provided no evidence to support the attorney general’s claims.

Holder said some unspecified faction — what he refers to as the “more extreme segment” — is driven to criticize both him and President Barack Obama due to the color of their skin. Holder did not appear to elaborate on who he considered to make up the “more extreme segment.”

“This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” Holder said, according to the Times. “Both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”

Regarding the race-bait article above: When my son was about 8 years old, I was disciplining him about cleaning his room. He said- " You're yelling at me because I'm Black aren't you". Well, he was just an 8 year old white kid, so of course it made me laugh out loud. But the moron AG Holder is not 8 years old, and has been given the opportunity to rise to Attorney General of the United States. Does he think he was given that opportunity because he is Black?

It's been 30 years since gasoline took such a big bite out of the family budget.
When the gifts from Grandma are unloaded and holiday travel is over, the typical American household will have spent $4,155 filling up this year, a record. That is 8.4 percent of what the median family takes in, the highest share since 1981.- CBS

And that's all you hear about in the mainstream media today.

In case I get tied up, I want to go ahead and wish everyone (including my liberal friends) a very Merry CHRISTmas. I have to admit my grandchildren have made me enjoy the holiday again. The commercialism was getting me down. Seeing your grandchildren in a church Christmas pageant and seeing their excitement says it all.

Also I wish everyone a Happy New Year. After the last few, we all could use one.

Sarkazein said...

For some reason THIS doesn't bother me.

I don’t understand this payroll tax mess. However, when there is something that Obama, Reid and Pelosi are all pushing really hard on, there is a skunk in the basement somewhere. That is for sure. Anyone figured out what is going on?

Sarkazein said...

This way they can bring it up every two months instead of it expiring after the election. Then they can say Obama has cut taxes 5 times this year so the voters won't forget.

Sarkazein said...

I just read that Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner just sent Lard Ass a personal apology.

Sarkazein said...

Thank Obama! He got the "tax cut" passed just in time to save THESE POOR SOULS from going Jordanless this Christmas. This is true poverty in our country. $200 sneakers. We must all pay our fair share.

An article in the current National Review reminds us that this hard fought campaign is obscuring the fact that the leading candidates actually have formed a consensus. All support right to life. All favor repeal of Obamacare. Most support reforms to restrain growth of entitlement spending. All favor reducing the corporate tax rate to levels that will make the U.S. a competitive location for investment. Most are against a defense policy that is driven by the need to protect social spending rather than the national interest.

The only disagreement is over who will be best to defeat Obama.

I am thinking they have either the Marine's age wrong or his rank wrong. Hackworth was the youngest Full Colonel at 40 or 41.... and that was the Army. It is harder to make rank in the Marines. Marine Lt Colonel at 29? Must be a mistake. 39 OK.
I'll bet he will be armed the next time.

Turns out the Marine LTC is 49 not 29. They only missed by 20 years. He looks like 29.
There is another holiday story out about a man being robbed in his home. The intruders told him to put his hands behind his back. He did. Then grabbed his gun holstered in the back of his pants and blasted two out of the three burglars.

VANCOUVER — Crack addicts in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside have started receiving free crack pipes as part of a Vancouver Coastal Health Authority harm reduction strategy aimed at curbing the spread of disease.

Part of a $60,000 trial project first announced in August, the pipes are just one piece of drug paraphernalia found inside kits that have been distributed to users in the area since the beginning of the month. The glass pipes are heat-resistant and shatterproof, which experts say should reduce injury to the users’ lips and mouth – wounds that can make them more susceptible to diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis B and C.

Also included are mouthpieces, filters, alcohol swabs, screens and push sticks.

NewGuy said...

What a great idea! And after they are handed out, the recipients can all be arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia~!

As soon as Obama reads about this, he will increase foreign aid to Canada and then claim that crack pipes should be part of Obamacare because Canada is doing it!

Sarkazein said...

Why don't they have government crack dens? Crack nurses could be there to hold the crack pipe for them, thus making sure they don't use the old ones. Make the crack-head supply his own crack and hold the Bic for fire. You don't want them becoming too dependent on government. Next, the government crack nurses will have to beat them on the chest to get them to inhale.

Illegal immigration
In 2006, Santorum opposed the Senate's immigration reform proposal.[72] Instead, Santorum stated that the U.S. should act to enforce currently existing laws. He has openly stated his strong opposition to amnesty for illegal immigrants. He supports the construction of a barrier along the U.S.–Mexican border, an increase in the number of border patrol agents on the border, and the stationing of National Guard troops along the border. He also believes that illegal immigrants should be deported immediately when they commit crimes, and that undocumented immigrants should not receive benefits from the government. Finally, the former senator believes that English should be established as the national language in the United States.[73]- Wiki
