Why Don't the Others Go Home?

I hope everyone got to watch the Huckabee Forum last night which allowed candidates to finally show what they have. The attorneys general as lawyers made them answer the questions.

Under those conditions it was obvious to me that Gingrich and Romney are way ahead of the others in intelligence and gravitas. I was positive everyone else was seeing the same as I.

Then today on the talk shows I am puzzled to see that not everyone did. So what can I say? I have spent my life as a professor grading people on their intelligence. To me our two top tier candidates are so far advanced intellectually, that it amazes me the others have the chutzpah to appear on the same stage with them.

Flip flops were discussed on the Sunday talk show. One person observed that Romney’s problem is he isn’t taking us through his thought processes as he changed positions. Though he did not follow through, the panelist could have added that Gingrich does.

Thus it is easy to believe Romney is a flip flopper for political expediency. Gingrich is not.

Ron Paul would be the only non-flip flopping candidate.
He believes and always has believed the US can and will defeat the British if they invade us again.

Sorry, New Guy,

I am a proud member of the APS (Apostrophe Protection Society), and it is my sworn duty to preserve the dwindling supply of that beautiful yet overused rhetorical device. ;-)

Yesterday Dick Morris quoted a French saying: “On the first vote you vote with your heart. On the second vote, you vote with your head.” For the sake of the country I am counting on this applying to all those true believers out there.

It certainly applies with me, Blogger. I used to support the lesser of two evils, thinking it was the right thing to do. I now know I was just perpetuating evil at a slightly slower pace. I will never do it again.

... now I will support evil to the max.

Gingrich and Romney are not true Conservatives. An intelligent person would be able to see this pretty clearly. The obvious choice for a true Conservative would be Ron Paul. What the man's able to do in office, not his electibility, is the only important factor. Guy Faulks nailed it when he talked about the lesser of two evils.

Both Romney and Gingrich support big government and illegal aliens. I will vote for neither of them even if I have to write in a Paul or Bachman or Cain. Gingrich and Romney will do as much damage to this country as the current sitting President, the only difference being they will do it with the confidence of the people (at least initially).

Barrack will be our President for a 2nd term. After that happens, our liberties will begin to fall away in earnest, yet the same thing would occur if Romney or Gingrich were elected (which they won't be). The Republican Party is in disarray whilst the Democrats, as crazy as they are, are united, well funded and have a standardized, central message that never changes. They advocate big government and push it upon you, in full view, with nary a peep from those who call themselves Conservatives.

The nation is moving towards the left. Conservatism is waining. Within a generation your country will be unrecognizable. Illegal aliens are reproducing by the millions - their values aren't your values, and again the public seems to care less. Obtain some land and plant a garden - we are going back to basics and we deserve it!

O-K, I give up. Obama can have it... it's o-ver.
Anonymous- One of the things wrong with your comment is -- "The nation is moving towards the left. Conservatism is waining." All polls say Americans are predominately conservative. Not everyone votes, some won't vote unless they get their way exactly, some vote for a candidate with no chance of winning, the Left cheats at elections, and many don't even know there is an election going on. The results are Obama, Clinton, Carter.
You could say Paul is a true libertarian, but many Conservatives recognize a need for a strong military around the world.. so he is not the perfect conservative. No one is. No one ever has been. Some are more conservative than others. But, if they don't run or can't get support, they don't count.

Yeah, let's just give up and let THESE PEOPLE HAVE IT. We'll show 'em.

How about IF-- Dick Armey decided to run on a Third Party ticket or is drafted at the Convention?

Sark Thanks for responding to Anonymous. His comment was so upside down, I didn't know where to begin. Also, did you notice he referred to "your" country? Maybe he is from another planet

Sark, If you keep finding these insane things that are going on in this country, sooner or later, people will finally realize something very eerie is happening to people's minds.

guy faulkes said...

Sark, what is your opinion of Newt's illegal immigration policy?

Sarkazein said...

Guy Faulkes- regarding Newt's immigration policy.
It is better than Obama's which is-- register them to vote. I am for moving any and all illegals in the US and children born to illegals in the US out. The sooner the better. Mainly because it will stop others from coming and allow the country they are fleeing to better itself. If it is not stopped, the countries they are fleeing in mass will never build and become good countries.
I really didn't like Reagan's policy of amnesty, because he never fulfilled his promise to close the borders, causing illegal immigration to increase many X over.
I know where Newt is coming from, I just don't agree with him. But, to answer your question, I'd vote for Newt before I would surrender to the Left.

guy faulkes said...

My question actually had nothing to do with voting for Newt, Sark. It has to do with his policy concerning illegal immigration. This policy is pathetic.

Unfortunately, none of the front runners has an acceptable policy on this matter. They do not realize that while deporting these criminals might cost some now, this cost would be offset by the funds that are being spent on them, both currently and in thee future. They do not want to address the problem for political reasons.

It might interest you to know that friends of mine that work for the Border Patrol tell me that there is a huge increase in the number of illegal aliens currently coming across the border.

Traditionally there is little activity this time of the year (Christmas in a predominately Catholic country, but there are now being groups of from 80 to 100 caught. This is because some illegal alien advocacy group has put the word out that they need to get here soon to take advantage of an Obama amnesty program.

I am not sure about the Obama part of this reasoning as all of the top contenders appear to favor some type of amnesty, even though amnesty has been defeated three times due to efforts by the citizens of this country.

Reagan blew it with his amnesty program. There is not perfect politician.

I, like you, would hold my nose and vote for Newt, in spite of his immigration polices. They will be ice skating in Hell before I would vote for either Obama or Romney.

When the wetbacks get here, Holder should just hand them an AK and a handful of US laundered cash, then lie to the public about what he did. The Press will have no problem with it.

guy faulkes said...

Last night, segments on various news shows indicate that members of the Legislature are talking of impeaching Holder. This impeachment is a good start but probably needs to go higher.
