Chick Fil A Bully fired

Vante of Tucson, AZ Regrets Actions of Former CFO
Company fires jerk who harassed Chick Fil A employee - click above link for company announcement.

This young woman seems to be typical of the many fine employees' that I encountered yesterday at Chick Fil A.
What a shame that the jerk who filmed this has nothing better to do than harass her because he doesn't like what the owner of the company said in an interview.  Well, now he will have more time for acting like an idiot.

"I'm totally heterosexual"- the idiot said. Why? Why did he feel like he had to say that? I'm guessing Rachel didn't care about his sexual preference. Was he ashamed that someone might think he's gay? Was his original intention to throw the water on the server?
He is a standard liberal, he wanted something for nothing and didn't care what it cost someone else.
If it had been a 6'-2'' - 225 pound redneck in the window, would light-loafers have the nerve to harass him/her.

And now he is going to mess up the unemployment numbers even worse!

He is 'standard liberal' for sure, Sark. Not able to just shut up and let other people alone! I thought the young woman employee was a good ambassador for the company though!

Times have changed. In my day a man coworker or customer would have "fisted" that old boy in the nose for harassing a lady.

I can't imagine, in my day, a supposedly mature adult accosting a young worker over a disagreement with a religious, or political statement by the owner of her company.

There are a few around today that would still do that, New Guy. I'm glad his employer didn't agree with his actions and dismissed him. Now he has to deal with the consequences, finding employment with someone who didn't see the video.

Agreed Reader. Of course he will probably sue his employer for some kind of violations of his right to be a jerk.

Chik Fal A does NOT support hate groups, he merely gives money to organizations that agrees with his values.

I am about to shock some people. The jerk had a right to voice his opinion if he did it on his own time. If that is the case and this was the only reason he was fired, it is wrong.

That being said, he should have visited the corporate office and spoken with the highest officer with which he could gain access rather than cowardly attack a young lady trying to make some money by doing her job.

Of course this ideology has been proven wrong before, I defended LPOV's presence on this blog for years.

guy...I can ALMOST agree with you. If he had carried a picket sign outside the business I would have been the first to argue his right to do that. Attempting to disrupt the business and interfere with their operation, even in his own small (and stupid) way is a little harder call.

But, to chastise and harass a young woman employee who has nothing to do with the corporate philosophy - that's where I think he went wrong. Of course I don't think he should be arrested for it....but I do think that his employer has the right to decide for itself what kind of people they want to represent them in the community.

I think his behaviour was juvenile, immature, asinine, rude, obnoxious and really a poor reflection on himself. Posting it all on his You Tube as if he was proud of it shows very poor judgment on his part (imo) and, if I was his employer, I would think that I would not want my company identified with him. He was the CFO of the company....one of the top executives....and would be expected to represent the company in a favorable light.

Sorry...I think he got what he deserved.

How come no liberal socialist sheep like happily dumb, matt, or pov sheep, or jw or any of the other idiots won't comment on this thread? Is it because they are embarassed by the way liberals act or because they are proud of the way liberals attack minimum wage workers? Which is it you liberal lemming sheep?

Yet they will comment on why it's ok to kill babies! Amazing ignorance.

I agree with your assessment of this jerk, New Guy, but still think what he does on his own time is his business except if the agreed to a company policy limiting political speech when he was hired.

One of my shortcomings is that I really believe that butt wipes in society, such as this guy, have every rights anyone else does. As a matter of fact, I was once told, if you wanted to be giventhe benefit of the doubt by me, you should disagree with me. From reading your posts, I am certain you agree with this philosophy also, but maybe not to the degree I do. It is a failing at times as it encourages those such as LPOV.

This does not mean I will not argue with them until the end of time, but except for LPOV in his several incarnations, I never thought anyone should be silenced. The only reason he (or they as they are three of them) should be banned is they were deliberately trying to destroy the blog. Even then they were not really banned. One of them offered to quit if asked. They were asked and then forced to live up to the offer.

That post has more typos than Carter has liver pills. My apologies.

OK...let's leave it at this:

1. Mr. Cathy of Chick Fil A has every right to say what he wants to about an issue.

2. Protestors, including Mr Smith have every right to boycott or whatever other LEGAL action they want to do in protest of what he said.

3. The owner of Vante, INC has every right to fire Mr Smith or take any other LEGAL action he feels is appropriate to protect his company.

4. Guy, and everyone else has the right to boycott, picket or otherwise take any other LEGAL action against Vante in order to protest them firing Mr Smith.

5. All the rest of us have the right to call Guy names because we disagree with him and to not do business with Guy if we knew what business he was in and if we wanted to not do business with him.

As far as POV and his "anonymous" alter-ego. He (they) seem bent on disrupting the blog at every opportunity either with troll posts or with SPAM. Plus, they are repetitious and boring as hell which isn't good for the blog either.

I agree with all your points, especially the part about calling me names. It gives me great satisfaction to know someone is paying attention.

Thank you, New Guy.
