Nathan Miller to Run For District Attorney

It's long been assumed that Nathan Miller, current chair of the Watauga County Board of Commissioners would be running for District Attorney for the 24th district in next year's election. Miller has proven himself to be a no-nonsense, fiscally responsible CONSERVATIVE in his leadership role on the Board of
Commissioners. We have every reason to expect he would continue his outstanding record of public service in this new position. Miller will face Burnsville attorney and former asst DA Seth Banks in what is expected to be a hard fought primary. Watauga asst DA Britt Springer has also declared her candidacy - it will be interesting to see if Watauga County Republicans split their vote in the primary between the two local candidates and, if so, how this will benefit Banks.

Miller's campaign announcement follows:

Mister Miller should do what he thinks is best but I, for one, think that Watauga County will miss having him as our County Chairman. I wish he could do both.

One can only hope that Mr. Banks will split the vote.

Finally - as an "Update/correction" to the article in that last link, we understand that there will be another forum for the DA candidates here in Watauga County....Monday April 28th, 530 PM at the courthouse.
