Reagan and Trump From Childish to Grownup
Trump, like Reagan grew up. Grown ups become conservative.
A grownup, faced with real world experiences recognizes the progressivism learned in their youth can’t work in that real world. One soon sees that you can’t penalize the makers to give to the takers. The takers become morally corrupted and the makers become demoralized.
Confronted with the real world of adulthood, the grownup faces up to the fact there is real evil in the world. In such a world you don’t undercut those who protect, the military and the police.
Confronted with the real world of parenthood, one becomes aware that pushing the moral envelope as progressives have done, undercuts the very bedrock of our society, the family.
Just as with Reagan, I see the rapid progression in Trump from adolescent progressivism to adult conservatism.
