What is a Generational Snowflake?

Universities have gone totally gone insane.  Following are some of the snowflakes’ demands. Zany Snowflake Demands

Abolish English Classes that Feature White Male Poets
Chaucer, Edmund Spenser, William Shakespeare, John Donne, John Milton, You know the type.

Create safe spaces
So they don’t have to associate with those who are not their kind,  activists, have asked their colleges to create segregated safe spaces for students of color, female students, LGBT students, or students of some other identity group

Police Microaggressions
There are a great many things that offend college students. But student activists don’t merely want to discourage offensive expression—they want to punish those who engage in it.  Some even believe they have been aggressed against if a speaker is invited with whom they disagree.

Get Rid of Grades and Tests
They create too much stress.  Some think special accommodations should be made for people who are too depressed, anxious, or triggered to take final exams.

“There’s a common theme among these demands.  It’s this: the modern college student thinks he or she (or xe) is uniquely oppressed, mistreated, and unsafe. They think a university education is too hostile, triggering, and difficult.” The author concludes.   Professors and administrators are increasingly caving to their students’ demands out of fear for their own job security.

The author believes there is little reason to think we have reached peak campus insanity.

Generation Snowflake is a term that is not a year old.

Anonymous,
Do you see nothing wrong with this trend? We are producing ignorant, spineless, thoughtless, emotion-driven pansies -- you know, people like you. Are you afraid of free speech? The only speech that needs protecting is the speech with which you disagree. The Founding Fathers must be rolling in their graves to think that today's Americans cannot find within themselves the fortitude to be exposed to an opposing viewpoint or belief system without crawling into a corner, sobbing relentlessly.

Nobody's post was one of the best in recent memory. Here's the absolute best cut downs you"ll see: "We are producing ignorant, spineless, thoughtless, emotion-driven pansies -- you know, people like you."

Thanks, JR. It's actually kind of depressing, sometimes, to realize that so many people in the US are as stupid as anonymous.

Nobody, I agree. It has been one of the sad revelations I have by becoming a blogger. Just knowing there are people who approach serious subjects like the Anons and the POVs is very discouraging.
