No celebrities applied to move to  Canada the Canadians report.  Looks like they are stuck with President Trump and we are stuck with them.

Hey Blogger... I thought you'd like to know that the State Supreme Court just handed developers the Boone ETJ on a silver platter.

The Boone ETJ is no longer! A great victory for representative (and conservative) government. Even two Democrat justices supported the state Supreme Court's decision. Apparently, only one justice dissented.

How much did the town citizens pay for the privledge of continuing Boone politicians authority into areas where they had no representational interest?

And, more importantly, when is the next stock car race?

Dickhead. What actually happened is that the SC ruled that the state legislature has the right to pass laws governing how municipalities can extend their authority outside their areas of responsibility.

Controlling zoning in an area where you have absolutist NO intent of annexing is just wrong! Why should a municipality be allowed to control what goes on outside their municipality. It would be like Virginia and Tennessee deciding what they would allow on the NC side of their borders.

GOOD RIDDANCE ETJ!

Will Streisand (sp) roll into Canada in her 45' mobile restroom or will she charter a private jet?

The Town spent a bundle challenging the law that eliminated the Boone ETJ. But to no avail. Wonder if Boone residents think this was a good use of their tax dollars? The Town leaders lust for land use controls in the ETJ has proven to be very costly. Here's hoping Boone taxpayers remember this wasteful and futile effort at the next municipal election.

The Town of Boone spent over $350,000.00 on attorney's fees for out of town attorneys to keep control of an area that it doesn't receive any tax revenue from. As usual the central planners at the People's Republic of Boone are always looking out for best ways to consolidate their power and cheat their taxpayers

I have no idea what they spent but I will take Mt Conservative's word for it. But, MC, does that include all the money they have wasted on the fairgrounds racetrack?

The town of boone council is what you get when you put people in charge of something that have no experience in actually running things. It's kind of what you should expect.

That amount doesn't include the money spent on the race track or the money spent on the Town Attorneys. This only includes the amount for the law firm the town hired for the ETJ lawsuit.

I hope the town will be required to reimburse the racetrack for the legal fees they incurred and the aggravation they endured because of the town delaying the ETJ law from going into effect for so long. Also the owners of the cement plant that were put out of business because of the towns illegal intrusion and disregard of their rights.
How many other businesses and individuals were screwed over during this time that the town kept them from full use of their properties?

There should NOT be any free ride for the town on this. Citizens were damaged by the town's interference!

We are at least getting rid of this one, FINALLY.

I've listened to her broadcasts over the years to get the lefty view and agenda. Her ignorance, arrogance and complete disregard for the normal people and their values exemplified the statist mindset and her guests and callers proved there is NO compromise or conciliation between the traditional American and the left.
