How Very Blessed We Are!

After Donald Trump delivered his first speech as President of the United States, evangelist Franklin Graham took the stage and said:  "Mr. President, in the Bible, rain is a sign of God’s blessing. And it started to rain, Mr. President, when you came to the platform."

I used to be a Baptist song leader and when Rev. Graham told the President that, the old hymn Showers of Blessings popped in my head. That very appropriate song goes:

There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;

Lev 26:3 ff God told the Hebrews that rain would be one of the blessing signs if they followed his commandments.

Then, there was that 40 days and 40 nights thing.

The forty days and forty nights thing might be considered a blessing as it was an event used to get things back on track, if I remember correctly. If I am correct, the next time and adjustment is needed, the tools to be used are fire and brimstone.

I would say that 40 days and 40 nights of Trump will deluge the left into wishing they were dead.

Guy, you are right about the flood being a blessing. I am impressed as few people know that. The flood was to wipe out the Nephilim. The Nephilim were the offspring of the Watchers. The Watchers were divine beings who mated with humans and created a race of very evil beings. These beings taught humans a lot of evil. Yahweh condemned them to die as humans instead of gods who could have lived forever. Their spirits roam the earth now and are the source of much of the evil we now see. Thanks Guy for bringing up the subject. I had wanted to reply to the Anonymous as I felt his comment was meant to be snarky.
