Reader asks "What it is That Conservatives Conserve

On this blog a so-called progressive asked "what it is that Conservatives conserve" The answer is two things. Conservatives conserve the Constitution and the Bible as written. And some of us even believe they were both divinely inspired.

Conservatives believe our founders created a document that has served us well. We want to conserve it intact. Progressives on the other hand see the constitution as fluid. They see themselves as much wiser than the founders.

The same thing can be said about the Bible. Conservatives will conserve it as originally written. It serves us well. Progressives believe it should be rewritten to fit our modern times and they are wiser than the original writers.

The U S Constitution has been amended several times are you opposed to those amendments?

The Constitution is the contract between the people and the government that allows the government to exist. It was ratified with the stipulation that the Bill of Rights be added. Both the Federalists and the Anti-federalists required this. Therefore the amendments contained in the Bill of rights cannot be changed. To do so would void the contract. New amendments can be added as long as they do not countermand any rights explicitly confirmed as belonging to the people and the states by the Bill of Rights. Note that the Bill of Rights does not create any rights but confirms them.

All of your listed 'attacks' also occurred during the Clinton and Obama administrations. Only the Bill of Rights cannot be changed. The others are fair game if that is the will of the people.

The left's problem is that it does not follow the proper procedure in order to make changes. They try to legislate from the bench. The Judicial Branch interprets. It does not legislate.

Many of the things you see as attacks are not. You are, however, entitled to your mistaken opinion.

Never understood how liberal socialist jackals accept and choose extremist religions such as Islam over peaceful religions such as Christianity. Amazing and sad. Sort of like they choose to allow American soldiers to die by the thousands in places like Afghanistan and Iraq due for no other reason than political correctness. To dial it down to the pedantic level for the common core left, we have fought in the Middle East for a decade in yet another limited war, police action in which we fight exactly the fight the goat herding muslims want. Precision strikes have never won a war and never will, but it is indeed poltically correct. Liberal jackals such as pov, happily dumb, PLOP!, shylock, new guy and many other give you this. And still they skulk about yapping about Christians!!!!!! Amazing.

Interesting how the Russians only fixed the Electoral vote and not the popular vote. They really have it down to a science. I wonder if any of the multiple correspondence with the Russians and Hillary and the Russians and the Obama White House was Hillary and Barrack asking the Russians for the popular vote while the Trump people were asking the Russians for the Electoral vote. Or, maybe the Russians wanted Hillary and that's why she got the popular vote. The Russians knew they could get away with anything they wanted to do by just sending Hillary a big reb button to reset while she giggles about her mistakes.

Conservatives here should be very happy, as the Trump Administration proves day after day they are unable to govern. Anarchy will be Trump's legacy. Trump will deliver ineffective and extremely corrupt government, with public policy based in ignorance and corruption.

You have seen Obama tell then Russian Premiere Medveded (sp) that he could be more flexible after the election and to pass it on to Putin who wasn't Premier at the time. "Flexible" meaning he had to hide it from the electorate (fool them)... you.

The Democrat leadership and MSM puddled themselves in anger and disbelief when Trump balked on accepting the results of the election as they assumed Hillary into office. It was "an attack on our democracy" by Trump they cried. The Democrats, their leadership, and MSM is doing EXACTLY and worse than what they interpreted Trump said in the debate.
Purposely ignoring these facts (Hillary's corruption and the accepting the election results) deletes you of all political honesty and debate as if you ever had any.
