Obama Ready, Fire, Aim

By now, Barack Obama’s already realizing what a mess he made of his big prime-time presser by allowing Lynn Sweet to draw him out on the arrest of Henry Gates in Cambridge. He wanted America talking about health-care reform after pre-empting their favorite programs, although his presser was so lackluster that the big story otherwise would have been his flop, both critically and in ratings. Ironically, had he heeded his own advice from March, he might have avoided all the trouble:

Remember, Mr. President: if you have to start off a sentence with “I wasn’t there and I don’t have all the facts,” the only correct conclusion to it is “so I have nothing to say about it at the moment.”

Many police officers across the country have a message for President Barack Obama Get all the facts before criticizing one of our own. Obama's public criticism that Cambridge officers "acted stupidly" when they arrested black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. could make it harder for police to work with people of color, some officers said Thursday.

It could even set back the progress in race relations that helped Obama become the nation's first African-American president, they said.

"What we don't need is public safety officials across the country second-guessing themselves," said David Holway, president of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, which represents 15,000 public safety officials around the country. "The president's alienated public safety officers across the country with his comments."

The Cambridge Police Patrol Officer's Association president also strongly criticized the president's remarks in an interview with The Huffington Post.

Liberal POV, BikerBard care to tell us about the Post-Racial President was just saying words, just words?

I just heard Newt say that the president called both parties in the dispute, inviting them to the White House. Newt says that showed some class, so if Oatz had not already commented, I would remove this post.

Sarkazein said...

It showed he wanted to deflect attention from the fact he is divisive. By having both parties come to the White House, he can fake it like he is trying to unite the races when in fact it was a fabricated racial issue first by the professor then by the boy President.
He may be trying to create some class, but he has already shown he has none and is still just a community organizer, where if there is no friction, there is no job.
Michele, Wright, and Obama have chips on their shoulders the size of Dallas.

Gregg said...

I'm with Sark, class cannot be retroactive. Obama does indeed have a chip on his shoulder and his first (no teleprompter) thought is police are racist. Pathetic. He also has a skewed view about the military, big business and America in general.

Obama used the "race card" throughout the campaign. His "spiritual mentor" Rev. Wright's influence is now visible. Obama's a racist, plain and simple.

Sarkazein said...

Gregg-

The more I watch Obama's reaction to HIS OWN blunder (Cops), the weirder he gets. Most Conservatives knew, in advance of the election, he was nowhere close to being qualified, in anyway except age, to be President.
Knowing that, doesn't make it any easier to witness.
Obama inviting the Cambridge Officer and the race baiting professor to the White House for a beer is either a blatant use of "smoke and mirrors" or Obama's psychological inability to recognize his own ineptness.
If it wasn't for his speaking cadence, making some people think everything he says is profound fact, he would have never tricked so many people into voting for him.

The one who would bring us together, inadvertently revealing the dark side of himself, touched off the whole racial thing again.

Gregg said...

You said it Blogger, key word "inadvertently". They think we're picking with our teleprompter jokes but it's so indicative of his overall problem. He can't tell us who he really is and what he's really doing.

BikerBard said...

No argument from me, Oatz. I belive the President misspoke.

I find it telling that Mr. Obama felt justified in saying the police acted stupidly as to their actions with his friend, but (to my knowledge) has not felt it necessary to comment on the murder of a Border Patrol Agent by illegal aliens. If he has made a statement about the BP agent, then it is telling that the media has not publicized it. This omission would appear to me to be equally racist on the part of one entity or the other. I believe the murdered agent was Hispanic. Maybe a citizen of Hispanic descent does not matter if reporting his death casts a negative light on illegal aliens.

Sarkazein said...

Guy Faulkes-

Obama will mention the Border Guard's death if he can tie it in to Americans selling guns to Mexico.
He will have to blame America first.

BikerBard said...

Sark:

I mean, it's not like Bush/Cheney tied everything to... 9/11.

I love it when you all get on your high horses to pretend the Repubs never misspeak, have affairs, hide money, offer pork barrel projects, get divorced, have embarassing moments, hire hookers and the like.
George W. Bush NEVER misspoke or anything. "Mission accomplished," right?

And now Guy damns President Obama for NOT speaking? You can't have it both ways, Faulkes. Oh wait, sure you can.

Now, do I hear an illegal immigrant rant emerging?

Sarkazein said...

BikerBard

I can not understand what you mean by Bush/Cheney tied everything to 9/11. ???

The Cops are American citizens after-all. What was Obama's "misspeak"?

Don't get me started on the "mission accomplished" liberal propaganda. No matter how much the ship's Captain said it was the Aircraft Carriers mission was accomplished, the liberals just like Madam Boxer will disrespect the military at every turn.

Don't tell me you are going to defend the illegal who shot the Border Agent like most liberals, you might as well throw in some misguided youth gang banger defense and some poor mistreated terrorist defenses.

Sarkazein said...

BikerBard-

I think I figured out what you mean by Obama's "misspeak".

Since it wasn't on the tele-prompter, Obama didn't know he was talking out-loud.
When his handlers got to him, they had to run the tape to show him he was, in fact, talking out-loud.

Gregg said...

BikerBard,

You seem that you'd ,at least, like to be considered reasonable. You say President Obama "misspoke". I say (don't want to speak for anyone else) that he thinks cops are racist, holding the black man down. Even though that world is no longer the world we live in , Obama still lives there in part because of mentors like Reverend Wright. I believe that's his mindset.

What about that scenario doesn't make sense?

Guy,

Your point concerning the dearth of coverage of the Border Patrol Agent's Death bears further investigation as you may be on to something. Robert Rosas Jr. a three year veteran of the Border Patrol in San Diego Sector was indeed Hispanic as are nearly 69% of all Border Patrol Agents. The area Agent Rosas was killed is, by all reports, typical of the terrain patrolled by the Border Patrol; remote, arduous desert terrain far from civilization - or back up by friendly elements. The exact location of Rosas' slaying, the Shockley Truck Trail is by most agents’ accounts, a well known crossing point by illegal aliens and narcotics smugglers.

I did some intense digging (as well as calling a friend who is a former Border Patrol Agent now working for ICE in Charlotte), and it is beginning to become clear why President Obama, or the news media for that matter, seems to want to keep this one under wraps. It's looking like one of the suspects is a Mexican Police Officer! That revelation wouldn't surprise most law enforcement working close to the border, but it would damage the administration's current efforts to engage unilaterally with the Government of Mexico on a variety of topics including, as Sarkezein alluded to, the weapons issue. It almost seems as if the administration is following Feinstein's edict to choose the time and place to enact additional 2nd Amendment restrictions upon honest, law abiding Americans. This most recent murder flies 180 degrees in the direction of what the administration was hoping for.

Yet it does tell us a thing or two about Mexico. First and foremost the Government of Mexico, from top to bottom, continues to be embroiled in corruption. Second, it shows that Mexico's violence problem is endemic to an overall lack of governance as opposed to weapons flowing south across the border from American gun shops and gun shows. Third, it indicates the now little talked about military assessment from earlier this year concerning the potential fall of Mexico actually has some merit.
Each of these points runs counter to the administration’s dealings with Mexico, and Agent Rosas is paying for it apart from his ultimate sacrifice. Since his death cannot be used to further the administration’s aim of “immigration reform”, denying 2nd Amendment rights to Americans, or make believing Mexico will share in the responsibility of controlling the border; Agent Rosas, for all intensive purposes, does not exist. What a shame.
But we have seen this common theme from the news media and liberal politicians before. The war in Iraq and Afghanistan are prime examples. We all know the gross, gory details of Abu Grab and Guantanamo Bay don’t we? We were force fed blatant images of so called US atrocities on television and in the newspapers day after day (after the usual infusion of US soldier and civilian casualties). But what of Daniel Pearl or the two or three Medal of Honor winners from Iraq and Afghanistan? Who are they and why do we not know their names or stories? Why were we not shown Mr. Pearls head being unceremoniously hacked from his body? I asked a soldier friend of mine the Medal of Honor question and even he could not answer it, yet he could recite a Medal of Honor recipient in every conflict from WWI through the Somali!! For this very same reason we will never know Agent Rosas’ story. We will never hear that he was killed by corrupt government officials from our narco-state neighbors to the south. Nationalism is dead amongst the moderate and far left in this country, especially when that nationalism runs anathema to the administration’s veiled plans. Aside from Secretary of State Clinton agreeing with Mexico on the gun show and assault weapon’s ban, what do we really know of the administration’s plans for dealing with Mexico? How many more Rosas’ will pay the price? Do they even matter to anyone?

At-least FOX is picking up the Border Agent murder now. Also suspected is MS13 Los Angeles contract killing paid for by a drug cartel. Most MS13 are illegal alien or children of illegal aliens.
Now is the time to classify illegal alien gangsters as unlawful combatants.
The State of Texas has it's own State Military. It falls under the authority of the Governor. Unlike the Texas National Guard, it cannot be called up by the US government. Governor Perry needs to call up the Texas State Guard to patrol the border. The State Guard is totally volunteer and is paid only if activated by the Governor. A State Guard supplies his/her own uniforms and weapons. There are about 2,000 members who could ride with Border Agents. In no way would Obama allow this. Even though it could help save a Border Agents life.

The Hill reported:

President Obama has become quite the golf fanatic since he began his presidency.

The commander in chief is out on the links again today, playing a round at Andrews Air Force Base. This is the 10th time in as many weeks that Obama has found time to squeeze in some golf (all weekends, except for one Monday.)

Thankfully, his last name is not 'Bush,' or the state-run media would be merciless.

Dog Tom, You bring up excellent points. Have you considered we are arming the Mexican police, and training them in tactics through what I believe is the Merida act, only to have many if not most of these people desert the police force and go to work for the drug cartels, taking their weapons with them? We are in effect training these people how to kill our Border agents just as they did Agent Rosas. In addition, I just read where ICE has an agreement with the DEA to concentrate on drug interdiction. It seems this administration will do anything to lessen the effort to control illegal immigration.

The lack of comment on the murder of Agent Rosas and the lack of a comment from the President is not only shameful, it is inexcusable. It certainly shows the manner Mr. Obama picks and chooses his comments on race. He will support his friend while he once again abandons those actually trying to enforce laws with which he does not agree. Fortunately public pressure has made him back up concerning his position on the Gates matter.

Oatz, I watched the Gates YouTube video. As a North Carolinian, I would very much like to attend a barbecue with Clarence Thomas, but would agree somewhat with Gates. He says he does not like to even fly over NC. I wish he wouldn't pollute our skies so I guess you could say we are in agreement.
