Reader,

It's just politics. Both sides do it as a way to force the other side to vote for something they don't like by linking it to something they do. This is why every President wants the line item veto.

I was thinking, what if bills were required to be limited to one page? More politicians might actually read it before voting.

Blogger get well soon!

Reader "hate crimes" or "thought police" as I describe it is added to these bills so if you object, well then your Anti-Military. You want to object to a Military funding bill? Or better yet, if the Bill contains classified material then it can not be debated in the open. This is an old "TRICK" mastered by Democrats to pass questionable amendments without public scrutiny.

Better yet lets debate Pelosi's refusal to remove Rep. Charlie Rangle (d-ny) from the House ways and Means Chairmanship. Pelosi did promise the most transparent and open House under her leadership, yet another Tax-Cheat is defended by Pelosi.

Thanks Guy. I wondered how it would benefit us, due to the fact most of our textile manufacturing is gone. Maybe she can do something, but without goods being produced, that's going to be hard.

I second Guy's comments -- thank goodness for Fox News and the Internet. Caught a little bit of Beck today. He showed a video clip of WH Communications Director Anita Dunn giving a speech in which she stated that two people she greatly admired were Mao Zedong and Mother Teresa. Mao?!? She said she thought a lot about them. Beck asked a great question -- when are we going to hear from an Obama official about how they greatly admire Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Franklin or any of the founding fathers? This is the same woman who has gone after Fox News. Libs HATE Fox News because it gives us access to information we wouldn't otherwise have. Nothing like losing control of the flow of information to cause a lib to lose control.

From The Hill... The first direct stimulus reports showed that stimulus contracts saved or created just 30,083 jobs, prompting more Republican criticism of the $787 billion package.

The data posted Thursday was the result of the government's initial attempt at counting actual stimulus jobs. Obama administration officials stressed that data was partial -- it represented just $16 billion out of the $339 billion awarded -- but they said it exceeded their projections.

"All signs -- from private estimates to this fragmentary data -- point to the conclusion that the Recovery Act did indeed create or save about 1 million jobs in its first seven months, a much needed lift in a very difficult period for our economy," said Jared Bernstein, the chief economist for Vice President Joe Biden.

According to the White House recovery office's rough calculations, the 30,083 jobs number projects out to a total of 1.2 million jobs saved or created by the stimulus through September.

That's crap.
The unemployment rate is nearly 10% now.
Millions of jobs have been lost since the Stimulus package was passed.
They "saved or created" nothing.
What a disaster. Lets see spending $535,00 per job...Hmmm now thats some Real Change, I hope Liberal POV is aware that these are White House numbers and not GOP, Foxx, or Mine.

"Jew building a house in Israel than with Muslims building a nuclear bomb in Iran."

There's a lot wrong with this statement.
Someone has really dumbed down the issues here.

The extremist right wing Israelis who go into the middle of Palestinian communities to build settlements to provoke anger and unrest.

Who owned the land these settlements were built on?

The use of the word Muslim in describing Iran to paint all Muslims with the extremist brush.

Keep in mind GOP know nothings in Iran 90% belong to the Shi'a branch of Islam and about 8% belong to the Sunni branch of Islam which is the al Qaeda Bin Ladin group. Close to 2% are Christians and Jews.

These Israelis settelements in Palestinian area mobilelize and energize Muslim extremism. Why would you such war mongering?

Simple answers are designed for simple minds not truth or understanding the large problems.

This is classic propaganda.

Who owned the land? Israel. If not, the houses could not hav been built, because while the Jews will tolerate the Muslims, the reverse is not true. The Israelis acquired these lands as a result of sucessfully defending themselves when attacked. They were not the aggressors. If you start a war and lose, you have to take what is given you depending on how bad you lose. The Palestinian warmongers lost big time.

Muslim is a violent religion that calls for the subjugation of all other religions. Read the Koran for Mohammad's instructions of lesser jihad. While it is true not all Muslims believe this, they are dissident reformers, not mainstream.

Obama's weak policies have degraded the situation in the Mideast to such a point that a nuclear strike by Israel to keep Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is entirely possible. I Hope you approve of the Change that may lead to World War III.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Organization is holding a conference this week in Egypt.
No Jews are allowed.
Israel National News reported:

A United States-based organization’s conference on breast cancer awareness, to be hosted in Egypt, has been touted by international news networks as an example of “unprecedented cooperation” in the region. However, according to Channel 2 news, the celebration of unity may be premature, as Israeli doctors were told at the last minute that their invitations to participate had been rescinded.

The conference will be held in Alexandria, Egypt this week, under the auspices of the American group Susan G. Komen for the Cure – the world’s largest breast cancer advocacy organization. It is to include meetings between leading researchers from the U.S. and several Mideast countries.

Israeli doctors were invited to the event as well, and several had planned to attend. However, on Sunday night, the doctors received brief notices telling them that they were no longer invited to the conference, by order of Egyptian Health Minister Hatem el-Gabali.

The notices did not include an explanation of Gabali’s decision.

Hat Tip Ken Solomon

Evidently, boycotting Israel is more important than curing breast cancer.

What you don't agree with, you call propaganda. Just because you call it propaganda doesn't make it so. Let's face it, if it wasn't for Fox News, we would never have heard about Van Jones' background, the corruption in ACORN, Jeremiah Wright or dozens of other issues. Are they not true? Did Obama sit in Wright's congregation for 20 years? Yes. Did Wright say controversial things? Absolutely. You don't like the fact that now there is someone out there paying attention to those stories. How about the children singing praises to Obama? I toured other websites several days after that story broke -- no one else mentioned it, though CNN had a story about a "slut list" in a high school, so they were doing stories about students in schools. Keep trying to label those you disagree with in a negative light. To quote you, what you think you know, just ain't so.

Van Jones sounds like someone trying to solve today's problems.

A 1993 Yale Law graduate, Van Jones is a husband and the father of two small boys. He is a tireless advocate for the planet and its people, committed to creating a robust and expanding green economy and greatly expanding the coalition fighting global warming.

Awards & Honors

Among Van's recent honors: included among TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People (2009), selection as a TIME Magazine 2008 Environmental Hero; named one of Fast Company's 12 Most Creative Minds of 2008; and designation as one of the most influential/inspiring African Americans of 2008 by Essence Magazine.

Also in 2008, Van Jones was awarded the following: Puffin/Nation prize for "Creative Citizenship"; Elle Magazine "Green Award 2008"; selection as one of the George Lucas Foundation's "Daring Dozen 2008"; Hunt Alternatives "Prime Mover Award 2008"; Campaign for America's Future "Paul Wellstone Award 2008"; Global Green USA "Community Environmental Leadership Award 2008"; designation as one of the nation's "Plenty 20" in the October/November 2008 edition of Plenty Magazine; San Francisco Foundation "Community Leadership Award 2008"; Environment News Feed's "2008 Top Eco-entrepreneur of the Year"; and one of the "20 Hottest Influences" in the National Urban League's Urban Influence Magazine.

Earlier in his career, Van was awarded the 1998 Reebok International "Human Rights Award"; the International Ashoka Fellowship; selection as a World Economic Forum "Young Global Leader"; and the Rockefeller Foundation "Next Generation Leadership" Fellowship.

In 2008, Tom Friedman profiled Van Jones in his bestselling book, Hot, Flat & Crowded. Also in 2008, Wilford Welch featured him in the book Tactics of Hope, and Joel Makower highlighted Van's ideas in the book Strategies for the Green Economy.

Was he getting the job done?

That's right the conservatives don't care much for human rights.

He wants the government to steal from those individuals that produce and give it to those that do not (even though they are fully capable of doing so) in order to secure a voting block to support his leftist positions. This is known as the new slavery propagated by the left. He calls criminals (illegal aliens) undocumented workers and pillars of society even though they consume our resources such as health care and educational opportunities; fill our prisons by committing violent crimes such as the murder of Agent Rosas and dealing drugs; steal our jobs; and export our money to other countries thereby taking it out of our economy. He is a proponent of government run health care as it will make it easier for the government to control our lives. They could make anything a health issue and ban it, be it hamburgers or handguns. He is an advocate of big government spending designed to bankrupt the country and kill capitalism. He blindly follows anything his leftist masters tell him. Have you ever heard him criticize a Democrat as most of us have Republicans? These are only a few of the examples of his idiocy.

With this being the case, is there any wonder he is in horror of any media outlet such as Fox News that actually report news instead of the administration's propaganda, talk radio that presents differing opinions, and any means for people to freely research and talk about issues such as the internet? The scum he supports cannot survive the light of day. Hence the public ousting of Van Jones and Acorn (they are still both around but are being hidden especially Jones).

However, I will give him some credit. He did figure out the dirt bag's name was Van Jones, not Van Johnson.

One thing about Contracting is that you are constantly working yourslf out of a job.

My eldest son has been going to his Marine Reserve drills. Last week he came back with a split lip, a chipped tooth and missing 2 toenails from playing Basketball for their PT due to the rain. (The unit commander also lost a toenail in the game)I imagine that the lefties would march on Washington if he were a Jihadist at Gitmo and treated like that. (By the way, he had a great time and says his unit has excellent officers, NCos and enlisted reservists and he enjoys working with them.)

Hope to see my daughter and son in law in Germany but funds are tight. They were here in August and their first request was to go to the range and spend a day shooting. We had a great time shooting all kinds of guns that lefties hate.

The youngest is going to Caldwell Tech here in Watauga, and is working as much as he can.

I think that I have never heard such tales of woe as I have heard from people all over the High Country about jobs and the economy. Many people I know are barely hanging on and many women are now the only bread earners in their households. I see no lasting or meaningful improvement in the economy, and expect that next year will see a artificial economic boost from the stimulus bill that will be used for specific spending designed to re-elect democrats. This will end when the money runs out.

We are in a Coup d'tat that is fundamentally transforming the US into an oligarchy, and it is all being done from within the gov't structure itself. We the people need to help each other and prepare as best we can for what's coming, and it ain't pretty.

Best wishes to blogger for a speedy recovery.

Of course we have to pay taxes, like LibPOV says. We need to have a strong military and places like Gitmo where we can interrogate terrorists. If Obama lives up to his campaign promises, we will have to pay combat pay for the 40,000 troops he is now trying back out of sending.

Michael Moore: Epic Failure or Right-Wing Double Agent?
by John Nolte
Roger & Me (1989): In his feature debut, Michael Moore went hard after General Motors for plant closings in his hometown of Flint, Michigan. RESULT: The company would go on to enjoy years of record profits until the 2008 financial collapse when, in March of 2009, the most liberal President in history would bail GM out. Ouch.
Bowling For Columbine (2002): A mere seven years after Moore won an Academy Award for summoning all his propagandist powers to target gun manufacturers and lobby for stricter gun control laws, polls show the public’s desire for stricter gun control are at historic lows.
Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004): Moore’s two-hour anti-Bush, anti-Iraq War screed would break all kinds of box office records but the end result later that same year was Bush coasting to re-election and eventually winning the war in Iraq.
Sicko (2007): Moore spends two hours hoping to convince Americans to champion socialized medicine and today, even with the help of the entire media complex and the President of the United States, polls show support for even a disguised version of socialized medicine (the public option) tanking.
Capitalism: A Love Story (2009): Finally, after a few weeks in release, I was able to duck into a matinee the other day to witness yet another entertaining but ridiculously unconvincing Moore tale – this one openly declaring capitalism an “evil.” And yet…

Liberal POV said...

Sark and GOP ( Grumpy Old People )

Moore 20 years ago was warning us about the greed and arrogance of corporate royalty leading to a dysfunctional society.

The film Roger and me showed Roger Smith and the executives of General Motors chose personal gain rather than engineering and research. Roger chose to ship jobs to Mexico and close the plants in Flint and other cities putting GM on the path to failure we saw last year.

Bowling For Columbine (2002): Showed many Americans care more about their gun fetish than their children. Moore in this film showed the difference between Canadian society and the United States. He showed the sensational US media and culture of fear here generated by the media, the gun fetish culture as well as a political system that has failed us all. You on the right elect fools on issues of abortion, prayer in school, Ten commandments in public building. You elect closet corrupt closet Republican homosexuals who haven't the moral courage to be honest with their own lives.

We on the left elect fools that promise to end the wars, Universal Health Care, Open Transparent government, prison reform, drug law reform and we get closet Republicans defending corporate royalty.

Kids mass killing kids repeatedly is a strong indicator of a very sick society. How many other countries has this sort of thing happened?

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) How's that Bush war working out?

Due the gross mistakes of the Bush Admin. in both wars and six years of occupation the people in both countries want the American forces gone.
Winning without the support of the local population is near impossible as the Russians learned. What is the objective in Iraq and Afghanistan? Please no "Win the war on terrorism" What does that mean?

Sicko (2007) This film showed the failures of the American health care system.

Eighteen percent of the American GNP is health care. Do you think these Insurance Companies and Health care special interest are not going to fight the truth of the film Sicko?
Millions are spent each week to confuse the American public with propaganda. Beck, Rush, and Fox News are the outlets of think tanks like Heritage Foundation were the real propaganda and lies begin.
Capitalism: A Love Story (2009): I look forward to seeing this film.

I don't believe we have had real capitalism in this country for decades.
We have corporate socialism with a layer of Corporate royalty in the top 0.05% and have had for decades.
We have just seem the life savings and 401Ks of hard working Americans stolen by scams. Madoff was not the only criminal on wall street. The corporate royalty continue to get bonuses and income packages.
Because you own a small business ( Building contractor, retail store, real estate office ) doesn't mean you get to be part of the corporate royalty.

The corporate royalty will stick you ( real capitalist mom and pop businesses) with unpaid invoices, bankruptcy, higher rates for insurance, telephone, vehicles, rent and inventory and lower prices for goods and services you provide.

Think Walmart: Walmart gets government support to build distribution centers, stores, trade agreements to compete with main street real mom and pop capitalist. Walmart is a great example of corporate socialism. Few Walmart employees make a living wage. The corporate socialist and corporate royalty managing them continue to drive down wages and benefits and prices for small business goods and services.

In Bowling for Columbine, he says gun laws do not work and then proposes we pass them. He made a fortune vamping money from fools such as you, but decries capitalism. He is a hypocrite even to himself.

Even you have to realize that the small businesses that Obama is killing are what make this country great. They can flourish in a free market system. Big government control of everything is much more harmful than competing with large corporations.

Pravda reported:

Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Benito Mussolini were very popular at the time, but they were not presented with the Nobel Prize. Yet, they were nominated for same.

If we look down the history from 1900 to 2009, we will find only one person who was extremely popular and talked about like President Obama. That person is Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi Party and chancellor of Germany.

Despite both men’s popularity; there are more scary similarities between these two leaders:

Both Obama and Hitler share similar ancestries: Obama German, Hitler Austrian.

Both leaders had been surrounded by many controversies concerning birth certificate, citizenship and religion.

Both had the father figure issues. Obama’s parents separated when he was two years old and they divorced in 1964. His father returned to Kenya and saw him only once more before dying in an automobile accident in 1982. Hitler had a troubled relationship with his tradition-minded authoritarian father, who frequently beat him.

During their teenage years both leaders had problems with alcohol. Obama called the alcohol phase “greatest moral failure”, Hitler called it “most humiliated experience in life”.

Both are unloved by the Jewish, for Hitler is well known why, for Obama, well, his victory in Presidential elections was not received with welcome in Israel.

Time magazine named Obama person of the year in 2008, Hitler in 1938.

Both had bestseller books: Obama had “Dreams of my Father” (memoir) and “the Audacity of Hope” (political convictions), Hitler had “Mein Kampf (My Struggle) in Volumes 1 and 2. It combines elements of autobiography with an exposition of Hitler’s political ideology.

Obama was influenced by Martin Luther King, Hitler by Martin Luther.

Both Obama and Hitler came to power during the recession-depression; Obama in 2009, Hitler in 1933.

Both are personality cult leaders, portrayed as saviors of political and economical depression; Obama as an American savior, Hitler as German. A cult of personality arises when a country’s leader uses mass media to create an idealized and heroic public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.

Both are/were very gifted orators, having ability to attract great interest in their speeches. Both have/had hand gestures when giving a speech.

Both leaders had initiated health reforms, environmentalism and animal protection rights, among others.

Lib, how many businesses have you owned? If none, if 1, heck if you have had 10 for that matter, you have no argument for this comment. That comment proves your lack of intelligence.

So POV, that is two things you write that are derogatory about Obama, he is a chicken hawk, and he is un-presidential.

POV, you make a point, but it is not the point for which you were trying. There should have been no bailouts. The free market should have been allowed to run its course. Neither should there be government run health care. Wages are determined by the free market. I will admit if the illegal aliens were deported, wages would go up. This is unlikely to happen as those such as you wish to exploit them. Mass transportation can and will be handled privately.

I like most of McHenry's record. I believe that some of you liberals contend that he is gay and therefore oppose him although I cannot see why, if this allegation is true, they would support Barney Franks. Maybe they have selective homophobia.

There seems to be more children in the building this year. They are very boisterous playing outside on sunny afternoons. I have promised them each a full bag of candy if they will come to my door and recite "Barack Hussein Obama, mmmm! mmmm! mmmm!" instead of "Trick or Treat" this year. On Halloween night, I will of course be at Walmart watching them put up the Christmas decorations. Afterward, I'll just blame my absence on the American Dental Association. Children are never too young to learn about politics. After all, it takes a village to raise a child.

Your U.S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300 raises.
1. They voted to not give you a S.S. cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011.
2. Your Medicaid premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years and
you will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is
-$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife.
3. Over 2-yrs they each get $10,000
4. Do you feel SCREWED?
5. Will they have your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc., decrease?
NO WAY. They have a raise and better benefits. Why care about you? You never did anything about it in the past. You obviously are too stupid or don't care.
6. Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barnie, et al, care about you? SEND THE MESSAGE-- You're FIRED.

MAKE SURE YOU'RE STILL MAD IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND REMIND THEIR REPLACEMENTS NOT TO SCREW UP.
It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of this.

Now we are in trouble. This wild-eyed liberal is going to get us while we are weak. I wonder what the punishment will be. Funny she's not investigating Obama's brothers housing situation.

FACT CHECK: Health insurer profits not so fat
Email this Story

By CALVIN WOODWARD

WASHINGTON (AP) - Quick quiz: What do these enterprises have in common? Farm and construction machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands and Yahoo? Answer: They're all more profitable than the health insurance industry. In the health care debate, Democrats and their allies have gone after insurance companies as rapacious profiteers making "immoral" and "obscene" returns while "the bodies pile up."
Ledgers tell a different reality. Health insurance profit margins typically run about 6 percent, give or take a point or two. That's anemic compared with other forms of insurance and a broad array of industries, even some beleaguered ones.
Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure. This partly explains why the credit ratings of some of the largest insurers were downgraded to negative from stable heading into this year, as investors were warned of a stagnant if not shrinking market for private plans.///

Obama is the Lyingist SOB ever!

"Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure."

I can see from the income of just the CEOs these folks are barely making it.

This is a great example of the corporate royalty and greed I've been posting about.

These CEO sure got a great return on their investment in the Heritage Foundation and hate radio.

Just think they also get Gregg, blogger and you lobbying form them for free.

They have to pay for Ms Foxx's services.

Yes, I know they own some Democrats also.

The insurance CEOs not only screw the consumer but the shareholders as well.

This is corporate socialism American style.

How can working Americans get a return on their investments when top management skims the profits?

Those pushing this country to socialism are not the far left but greedy corporate management and wall street.

Burnie Madoff s just the fall guy many many others are just a guilty of robbing the American middle class of a life time of investments.

You have a fetish for other peoples earnings.

How much does George Clooney make a year? $15M.
How much does Michael Moore make a year?

For nothing. A CEO has a real job and real legal resposibilities.

The CEOs you mentioned make less than many Hollyweirdos and many millionaire, drug addict, wife beating pro athletes.

How about Michele's salary going from $120K to $340K on Obama's senate election?

Liberal POV said...

Sark

Thanks again for pointing out reasonable salaries of $120 to 340 thousand annually for Michelle or other government officials. This should also be true for those managing the investments of the American public.

Moore is not a publicly traded company nor is George Clooney but both should be expected to pay taxes to support the system of government that made such earnings possible and see that every American has affordable Health care and are well educated.

You left out the part for those managing investments of other people's money $120 to $340 thousand is a reasonable income for investment bankers and CEOs.
$312,000 per year is $120 per hour for a 50 hour week. $ 24,000,000 per year is $9,230 per hour for a 50 hour week.

These are the people you lobby for.

Today the greed of corporate management and wall street skim the profits for their own wealth leaving only the risk for investor and no opportunity for gain as any profits go to increase management's wealth.

Lots of Bernie Madoffs out there.

Sarkazein said...

Madoff is a Democrat.

Madoff is in jail as he should be what of all the others who have skimmed the investments of middle class Americans for their own wealth Democrat or Republican? That's the system you defend.

Sarkazein said...

POV- You are right, I defend the laws putting him in jail for working as hard as you against capitalism.

Explain this capitalism thing, I understand when Michael Moore makes a movie and millions go to see it or Stephen Jobs invents the Apple computer both stand to get very rich, that's capitalism.

What happens when Moore or Jobs takes their ventures public to fund growth and to get capital from their creativity. When either takes the business public they have a fiduciary responsibility to their share holders if CEO or CFO.

Tell me how it's still capitalism if they skim all the profits for top management wealth and not a crime?

How is it Capitalism if they get congress to protect them from competition as they have insurance or the power companies and other utilities?

We have fought wars for Oil and the Sugar industry.

The US Government has used the military to defend labor cost for American industry.

How is the America you want different from the China of today?

My models are Norway, Finland, Sweden, Canada, Italy all with high standards of living. The conservative model seems to China, Guatemala, Argentina under dictators, police states with extreme wealth and extreme poverty with rights only for the wealthy. Human rights are of no importance. Why
