Giiving Obama His Due, His First 14 Minutes Was Astounding

IF HE HAD QUIT AFTER 14 MINUTES, HE WOULD HAVE DELIVERED ONE OF THE GREAT SPEECHES OF HISTORY.

A hint of a grown up in these first 14 minutes.

Sorry, I can't take 14 minutes of Obama. I made it about 1 minute. I promise, if there is a resignation speech, I will listen in it's entirety.

I have never been able to listen to him speak. That droning sing song, grates. However, I stayed with him for those first 14 minutes of greatness. After that, he just numbed me as usual and I finally zoned out. How about the rest of you conservatives, did you make it after those first 14 minutes? If so, why?

The speech only had one major flaw in the first 14 minutes. This was his praise of the UN and his lamentations over the League of Nations not having been endorsed by the U.S. The UN was not a good idea from minute one. The UN gained its power due to Truman's poor handling of the political situation in the far east after the Second World War. He was determined to stop communism in Korea, even if the US had to go it alone. He did not want this and threw heavy support to the UN. All of this would have been unnecessary if he had handled the negotiations with Russia better after the war.

He made some good points about a nations right to defend itself. He did not necessarily proclaim this to also be an obligation.

By the fifteen minute mark he was back on his apology tour and wanting to subjugate this country to the UN. I had to stop listening.

I, and others on this blog have said that what keeps liberals arrested at the adolescent stage of development is that inability to come to grips with real evil in the world. In Obama’s speech, at least for a moment, he left his sophomoric attitudes behind and actually used the phrase "evil in the world". That is what made his speech worth paying attention to (that is, the first 14 minutes).

Perhaps thats the reason you are such idiots on the left, you can't even listen to people with other opinions.

Anonymous, you made two mistakes. First you admitted the left were idiots. The second is that we have heard the traitor Obama apologize and lie before. Repeating the lie does not make it true.

On reflection, it seems I may have misinterpreted Anonymous' post. could you clarify your meaning.
