Say A Prayer For The People Of Haiti

When it comes to political complaining ground, Haiti is fertile. I guess we'll get to that later. It's a human tragedy. The government may very well crumble adding to the misery. There is plenty of news and video out there if you're so inclined, so I'll skip it here. For now, just say a prayer... aetheist too, just in case.

Those wanting to help should consider the local group Heart, Hand and Hope for Haiti.
Locals Ricky and Debbie Coffey and Lee Hyett are three of the Board of Directors as well as people that can get things done in Haiti.

One could also use the Red Cross, or Samaritan's Purse.

Too bad Pat Robertson didn't limit his commentary to prayer.

The only problem with this comment is the reality of Haiti's history.
Haiti has changed or dropped or reinstated their Constitution over and over.
Most Conservatives here, support the original US Constitution, and do not want a monarch or a President to change it because of the current events.
Haiti has been the opposite of that.

That's why I support the ACLU. Are you a member?

The ACLU's client is the United States Consitution and sometime they have to defend some real asshole in order to defend the United States Consitution.

guy faulkes said...

The ACLU is a strange organization. They pick and choose which civil rights they wish to support. The political views of the people asking for their assistance is also a large factor in determining if they will take a case.

I have been involved in dealing with these people twice. On one occasion the issue was a first amendment violation. They said the case was a classic infringement of the freedom of speech by a municipality, but that it was not newsworthy enough for them to get involved. The other case involved the second amendment. They indicated they were not interested in handling such a case. The gentleman that went to their office told me that on the way out, he noticed nine of the first ten amendments prominently displayed. The Second amendment was conspicuous by its absence.

I have to believe they deserve their reputation as a group that caters primarily to the left.

All the "It's Bush's fault" the childlike President Obama has cried over the past year, didn't stop him from asking President Bush to help him out with Haiti.

Reagan didn't bad-mouth Carter, President Bush didn't bad-mouth Clinton, yet Obama has been non-stop.
I would have told Obama to pack sand. President Bush could have used the excuse that he had already teamed up with someone else. But W is too big a man.
The lying sack, Obama, has called President Bush a torturer. If the Haiti relief is a success, does Obama stand side by side with someone he says is a torturer and tell the world what a great guy the torturer is for his efforts in Haiti?

guy fauleks said...

BB, These were not secondhand evidence. I was personally involved in both. I did not go to the ACLU office and personally witness the absence of the second amendment being posted, but I was personally told they wanted nothing to do with the issue. By the way, the absence of the second Amendment being posted on their wall was confirmed by another person.

Have you ever had any personal dealings with the ACLU or are you speaking from your nether regions?

If you have had a positive experience with them, it would not be surprising. From my experience and from what others have told me, the more liberal you are, the better they will work with you.

Sarkazein said...

An acquaintance of mine is an ACLU attorney. She worked in the Clinton administration. Her job was to make sure the 1st Amendment was followed to the strictest perverted definition of the ACLU (POV notice- not the US Constitution), meaning, freedom from religion, praying verboten in school.
She is actually a great girl.
I asked her, after her Washington duty and she was back in Houston, "Now that you've saved the Ist Amendment, when are you going to start defending the 2nd Amendment?"
All I got was a cold stare. They REALLY don't believe the 2nd exists.

I also asked her if Bill flashed her, or put any kind of move on her. She is Jewish, but not pudgy enough I guess.

BB, Have you ever considered remedial reading classes? You have been told twice I had personal experience in dealing with the ACLU. Sark commented from his personal experience. Could this be another example of the famous liberal double standard?

Yes, this is very easy. The following link does it very well and even has some nice colorful graphs that even an idiot like you can understand:
http://www.american.com/archive/2008/march-april-magazine-contents/a-nation-of-givers

I also printed an excerpt from the article which, to your impending chagrin, shows Americans routinely outclass your favority people, the French, in charitable donatations.

I surmise this link will go ingnored like the one regarding reverse discrimination that I trounced you on a couple of weeks back. LOL!!! I love showing you how stupid you are!!!!! Read and weep:

Are Americans more or less charitable than citizens of other countries?
A. No developed country approaches American giving. For example, in 1995 (the most recent year for which data are available), Americans gave, per capita, three and a half times as much to causes and charities as the French, seven times as much as the Germans, and 14 times as much as the Italians. Similarly, in 1998, Americans were 15 percent more likely to volunteer their time than the Dutch, 21 percent more likely than the Swiss, and 32 percent more likely than the Germans. These differences are not attributable to demographic characteristics such as education, income, age, sex, or marital status. On the contrary, if we look at two people who are identical in all these ways except that one is European and the other American, the probability is still far lower that the European will volunteer than the American.

And what dribble do you hath for the truth givers? LOL!!!! Were you born stupid, or did you just get that way.

And you have once again not answered Faulk's tough questions. Why do you think the ACLU does not defend 2nd Amendment rights? Could it be because they are staffed by hypocrites such as yourself who are so liberal they are unable to extract their feet from their well worn mouths?

Remember when Virginia Foxx was handed to you idiots on a silver platter over the crooked Blowing Rock Land Grab? Uh huh, want to forget about that don't you? Anyway, it is the same thing as the ACLU. Virginia Foxx and Aaron Whitener screwed the locals in Blowing Rock in a big way, yet because the issue involved hunting, no one from your camp would oppose her. In fact, the silence from the liberal side was almost funny. Ken Ketchie and gang nearly had a heart attack when they had to explain to Blowing Rock locals why they wouldn't print a news release on this very subject.

YOUR ACLU is the same way. They have the opportunity to fight for 2nd Amendment Rights, yet don't because liberals don't believe in independece, personal freedom, or responsibility.

This is why you idiots are having such a hard time in Mass. LOL!!!

You speak out both sides of your mouth Tricycle. Then again, it is possible that you don't speak out of your mouth at all as it is usually full of a can of Spaghatti O's that your Mom fixed for you after putting the helment and bib on. LOL!!!!

BB, I did not answer your post because you do not deserve an answer. As far as I can remember eight people on two separate blogs have wondered if you were gay. I was not the first and until you were so vehement and rude in your denial, I did not believe it. Now I do.

I am not homosexual, but it would not matter if I were except to homophobes and those desperately trying to stay in the closet by trying to divert attention from themselves.

Your problem should not be with sexual orientation. If you are gay, fine. If not and people accuse you of being gay, what does it matter? Your real problem is that you cannot make lucid arguments. All you ever do is use personal attacks or try to change the subject. People call you on it and this angers you so much you then make yourself look even more like an idiot. You are truly to be pitied.

Texas team preparing for Haiti mission told to stand down
By DALE LEZON HOUSTON CHRONICLE
Jan. 18, 2010, 7:37AM

A Texas search and rescue team and other similar units mobilized to help earthquake victims in Haiti have been told they are not needed.
Members of Texas Task Force 1 have been on standby in Houston since Thursday to head to the devastated island nation.
But the United Nations mission in the country has declared the search and rescue teams already in the nation are sufficient to handle to the task and the Texas team and others prepared to deploy would not be needed.
The Texas unit, which has been on standby at Ellington Field in southeast Houston, was made up of 80 members including doctors and engineers. Four dogs were also part of the team.///

You don't need someone to decide if this adds to the discourse here. The answer is obvious.

Now, back to the thread.
George Clooney and a host of Hollywood "lib-brels" will be donating their talents to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. This is not unlike the telethon for the victims of 9/11 by more "lib-brels."

"On Friday, George Clooney will produce the Hope for Haiti telethon, and will serve as one of the show's hosts from Los Angeles. Musician Wyclef Jean will host from New York, while CNN reporter Anderson Cooper will host from Haiti. The live, two-hour, commercial-free telethon will begin at 8 p.m. ET."

Those damned "lib-brels" are at it again! Helping people, no less!

Liberal POV said...

I'm guessing the Haiti rescue is now focused on saving the hundreds of thousands of wounded and millions non wounded as infection, disease, hunger and exposure start to kill more the earthquake itself.

The next few months would be tragic even if Haiti had a functioning government.

The homes ,fuel supply, water supply, government, hospitals, food stores and warehouses, banks, what little economy they had, vehicles, roads, bridges are gone. Millions are going to die with the best of humanitarian help.
