Who Gives?

The White House has proposed cutting the tax deduction for charitable donations in the 2011 budget. Appalling!

This proposal was defeated last year and it's not going anywhere this year either. When I read about this on HotAir there was a link to this story that breaks down who gives the most and least. Myths are busted.

What in the world is wrong with this administration? We not only give to charities to help, but to write it off at the end of the year. This not only hurts the people who give, but also the ones who receive.

You're right Reader. Not only that, it will not bring in more revenue or lower the deficit as they seem to think it will. It doesn't make sense on any level.

Well, if we are going to do away with being able to write off charitable donations, then there is no longer a valid argument against the fair tax or the national sales tax. Write offs for charity were the only ting that made sense with our present tax structure. If you gave it to charity, then it is only logical to treat it as if you never made it.

I second that Guy. Didn't Huckabee support the fair tax? I think he was the only 2008 candidate that did.

I have never seen such incompetent financial people in my life. We are idiots for putting up with this crap. We're millions of people for crying out loud...I'd be the second in line, if someone could figure out what to do. One year, I'll be honest, this has gone on long enough guys.

Reader,

Your outrage is certainly justified. IMHO this will never happen. It went down in flames last year when it was proposed. It's so stupid.

I wonder why the compassionate libs aren't complaining about this.

No kidding HD. Lib, do you think this is a good thing?
