John Boehner Asks and Answers

John Boehner's emotional speech on the House floor was dead on. Can anyone refute it?

C-SPAN was riveting TV last night. Watching the debate itself instead of the pundits analysis of the debate is far more instructive. The speeches are high pressure performances. I know a little bit about performing under pressure in front of very large crowds. I can't help but to notice the performances separately from the verbiage. It takes confidence and experience to begin. It's much like a musician starting a song by his self in a quiet but filled to capacity auditorium. It's very difficult to be smooth and dynamic. At some point the musician closes his eyes and looses himself to the music. The nervousness disappears and the passion replaces it. I saw that last night with Boehner's speech. The same goes for Mike Pence, Eric Cantor and others. The passion was real and I believe they reflect the passion of most Americans.

Hi old friends!

Let's see:
Health Care Reform PASSES.
Not ONE Repub can think for himself and all follow the Chief Lemming Boehner(or sheep, if you prefer) and spout the "company line." Tea Baggers whip up a frenzy so protesters spit on congressmen, shout racial epithets and homophobic slurs and try to physically intimidate congress.

And a zombie member of "The Party of No" screaming "Baby Killer" on the floor prior to voting.

You and your mothers must be awfully proud! LOL!

CNN Rules Committee Meeting this morning. Dems had shoddy paperwork - a report was on one side - but the Repubs never got a copy. This happened at least four times. I heard snearing comments from the Black Representative, telling our young white rep. to "shut those people outside because we hear them." It was rude and demeaning. As the discussion went on about what was in the bill, it was clear that the Democrats had little knowledge of it - and could not defend parts of it or explain how the program would work. The Republicans had to explain to them what was in their own bill. They had counted 500 BILLION cuts from Medicare TWICE, which is bad accounting and threw the CBO report into a negative balance, instead of saving money like the president said. The president's promise that people could keep their insurance was a lie - because every health insurance plan would fundamentally change - it has to to meet the new government guidelines. So you CAN'T keep the insurance plan that you have. When Jeb Hensarling (r) asked about the cost of adding new IRS workers to police and enforce medical premium payments and the resulting fines - and an estimated 18000 workers would need to be hired...no one from the Democratic party said that this would need to be added to the cost of the bill. When Mr. Hensarling asked whether more doctors could be trained and hired since there were 30 million more people added to the rolls, the Democrats also could not add to that - except to say that there were future hospitals to build - but that they were 5-10 years away. When Republican Jeb Hensarling asked whether illegal aliens would be fined for not buying insurance - Democrats stated that illegals would not have to purchase insurance, nor would they pay a fine for not purchasing. Mr. Hensarling stated that it looked like they would continue to receive FREE MEDICAL care from the E.R.s as usual. It was clear to me as I listened, that the Democrats didn't know much about the bill, probably had never read it, could not have an intelligent, informed discussion or debate about any of its points or merits. It was also very clear to me that Republicans had read the bill, knew not only what the present ramifications will be, but could project what the ending results will be. Mr. Hensarling made the comment that doctors and pharmacies were refusing to take anymore Medicaid and Medicare patients, stating that the reimbursement from the government was too low. Mr. Hensarling stated to Ms. Slaughter that the government had created the problem by underfunding reimbursement rates to doctors and pharmacies - yet placed the blame on doctors and on insurance companies - who had raised premiums. He pointed out that insurance rates had been pre-emptorily raised by insurance companies because they knew that Washington was going to put a cap on the increase of their rates...and were hedging and raising in advance. The doc-fix is not included in the CBO report, the 18000 IRS workers are not included in the CBO, and one must add 550 Billion to the debt side of the CBO - because Democrats said that it could be counted twice. Not correct. It is easy to see that the president lied...he misrepresented many things about the bill - especially the cost of this program. The bill not only doesn't save money and lower the deficit, it raises the deficit by 2.5 TRILLION over 10 years alone, and triples the national debt in 10- years. This bill was not the answer to our problems. All it did was to set up the framework for the Socialist, Progressive Party's agenda.

BB,

Watch the video. Can you honestly say Democrats in Congress can say what Boehner says they can't?

guy faulkes said...

HD, you have asked an unreasonable action from BB. You wanted an honest opinion. BB is not capable of providing one.

Lets see. We have 38 states challenging the bill. We have the Senate Republicans going to review and amend at least a quarter of the bill. We have the huge voter backlash that is going to change one and probably both houses of Congress to a Republican majority. I do not know if our liberal friends really need to be celebrating their destruction af our health care and economy.

Watauga County has the highest number of uninsured in the state of NC.

What do you say to them if you were successful in stopping the Health Care bill in NC?

Exactly what you are telling the out of work stone masons, carpenters, dry wallers, house painters, young boys mowing grass in the summer as they watch their jobs being taken by illegal aliens. What you are telling them is what we will tell the poor uninsured. LOL

This ought to be intersting!!

Stings don't it?

Care to share who your Health insurance is with and how you're so sure you will not need the benefits of this Health Care Bill?

That they are welcome for their thanks for saving their jobs, the economy and the excellent health care system we already had.

Liberalproverbs18:2, while you are asking questions about health insurance, who carries yours and who provides it? Mine is Blue Cross Blue Shield and I purchase it individually.

Liberal POV said...

Mine is thorugh the company I retired from and I have a very high deductable ($4000.00?) I have to pay before it kicks in.
I'll have the Government run socialist program called medicare in a couple of years then I can relax like Blogger and Reader.

Reuters reported:

“The health care reform legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives last night clearly violates the U.S. Constitution and infringes on each state’s sovereignty,” Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, a Republican, said in a prepared statement announcing a news conference.

“On behalf of the State of Florida and of the Attorneys General from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota and Alabama if the President signs this bill into law, we will file a lawsuit to protect the rights and the interests of American citizens.”

Liberal Socialist Sheep POV,

First tell me what you would say to the out of work Stonemasons, carpenters, dry wallers, house painters, young boys mowing lawns for a buck after you called them lazy and deserving to have their jobs taken by criminals (illegal aliens). Would you tell them that they are lazy or that you prefer cheap, unskilled, uneducated, criminals over them? After you answer the question, I will tell you which health insurance provider I CHOOSE TO PURCHASE.

This ought to be interesting!!!

I apologize to all my democratic friends. My opposition to the health bill was based on a misunderstanding of the facts. Nancy Pelosi cleared it up for me last night. I did not realize:
1.Current system is unsustainable.
2. The bill will spur wild entrepreneurial investments and economic growth everywhere.
3.The bill will cover 32 million more people and lower costs for everyone.
4.The bill will create 4 million jobs. (government jobs)
5.The bill will save $1.3 Trillion Dollars.
6.Passing this bill will crack down on fraud and waste.
7.It is supported by MILLIONS of Americans. (although I think she meant several)
8.It is historic as Social Security and Medicare.
9.She forgot to mention SS and Medicare is over $107 Trillion in debt.
10. This bill will allow me to win the MASTERS this year.
11.Puff the Magic Dragon is alive and well.
12.Happy Hour now can begin an hour earlier because the government is now responsible for my liver.
Now we can all cozy up by the warm glow of the burning Constitution.

Unsubstantiated claims. No proof, no charges, no arrests. Bogus crap

HOWEVER, IF it is true, so what? One or two people out of thousands? It is amazing how thin skinned lefties are considering all of the vile crap they spew about others.

I'm sure you are proud of health care reform, and I will enjoy listening to your whining as you find out what is really in this bill, which will create billions in revenue for insurance companies.

No worse, then a not so veiled homoerotic name you used BikerBard to describe the Tea Party Protesters. Of course the post-racial Democrats would would NEVER fabricate a racial slur for Political points would they?

Well said Wolf...excellent. More power to the insurance companies. The wealthier will get wealthier. I got to thinking about that too Wolf, no one really said who heard the people say those things. I still don't agree with doing that to people. There's millions of people who feel that way and there's millions who don't. Trouble for me, it's childish. Who does really care? Only the children. Liberals need to man up.

Conservatives and Tea Party Mob

What's your Plan? Who's Your Leaders?

What's your definition of socialism, Social Security, Medicare, Student Loans, Infrastructure projects, Mental Health Programs, Public Education?

What will you do if you become empowered? Chase all of the liberals and educated professional people into the jungle like the Khmer Rouge did in Cambodia? Declare being poor illegal and set up debtor's prisons?

How far do you want to turn the clock back? 1900 Industrial Revolution? 1930 Hoover towns, 1950 McCarthyism? 1960 pre Civil Rights?

Admit it you have no plan, your only reacting to hyped fear media.

Anytime before November 2008 is cool with me.

I'll say, "Where's the McCarthyism when we most need it?"

Sarkazein said...

Today is proof McCarthy was noble. When you let communism in the government, you can lose your country in a heart beat. Pelosi has 11% approval ratings, yet her allegiance to communism is more important than the will of the People. Her grotesque "smiles" show her happiness is related to government control of the masses, and not the US Constitution or the People.

Liberal POV said...

Sark

"Today is proof McCarthy was noble."

McCarthyism was based on fear, lies and guilt by association.

Reagan was the snitch for Joe McCarthy ruining many a actor's career on rumor.

People lives were ruined. Great Americans like

"Among the best-known specifically named in Red Channels were musical director Leonard Bernstein, composer Aaron Copland, actor Will ("Grandpa Walton") Geer, actress Ruth ("Harold and Maude") Gordon, mystery writer Dashiell Hammett, actress-singer Lena Horne, poet Langston Hughes, folksinger Burl Ives, actor Burgess Meredith, playwright Arthur Miller, actor Edward G. Robinson, actor-director Orson Welles and folksinger Pete Seeger. "

Sark one of the victims was Texan John Henry Faulk one of many indirect victims of McCarthyism.
