McCotter Floor Remarks on Obama: So this is what change looks like...

THIS MAN CAN MAKE A SPEECH. WHERE HAS HE BEEN BEFORE THIS? NO ONE I HAVE HEARD HAS EXPRESSED THE TRUTH SO CLEARLY.. IF EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY ICOULD HEAR THIS AND INTERNALIZE IT, WE WOULD BE WELL ON THE ROAD BACK TO SANITY..

Excellent speech! Thank you Blogger. Talk about moving a mountain.

Keep in mind, 545 human beings are responsible for the decisions of our country. If God is willing, He will move 300 million in the right direction.

Sarkazein said...

That was great. Pelosi and Obama do not understand their job description. Both are just low level political hacks.
McCotter should do the Saturday radio follow up speech every Saturday until the election. Gloves off, Obama doesn't respect the Office, don't hold back, forget the niceties and go after both of them every day.

We all know who is posting here Sark. He likes to send letters to the editor of the local newspaper.

Reader-

BB has NO comprehension ability. Obama as President of the United States, and Pelosi as Speaker of the House, are supposed to represent the people of the United States and protect the US Constitution, not be low level political hacks.
Sarah Palin, on the other-hand, holds NO political office, much less a presidency or a speaker-ship.
The simple mindedness of BikerBard, as representative of most liberals, should keep them from being allowed to vote or operate heavy machinery.

Noam Chomsky says I should not be ridiculing the tea party movement.

He makes a good point.

POV- One of your fellow travelers:

Chomsky is critical of the American state capitalist system and big business, he describes himself as a socialist who sympathizes with anarcho-syndicalism, but is strongly critical of Leninist branches of socialism. He also believes that socialist values exemplify the rational and morally consistent extension of original unreconstructed classical liberal and radical humanist ideas to an industrial context. Specifically he believes that society should be highly organized and based on democratic control of communities and work places.

No Compromise said...

POV,

Why do you ridicule the tea party movement, but not the coffee party movement? Just curious.

Liberal POV said...

No Compromise

I had to google Coffee Party Movement to answer because I had never heard of it.

The answer:

Because it seems reasonable and has an objective to find positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them.

"COFFEE PARTY MISSION STATEMENT: The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them."

I don't just want socialism for the rich as we have now.

How long did it take the government to bail out the rich even under a conservative Bush Administration with corporate socialism?
Working America citizens need a similar social safety net.

At least be honest. Just now people are admitting Obama is a socialist after denying it during the election. In fact, the denials were so strong, some Democrats said the term socialist was a hidden derogatory racial slur.
Officially CHANGE your screen name to the honest term "Socialist POV". You'll feel better about yourself.

Sarkazein, Thanks for telling people about Chomsky. He is an important psychologist, but like the Hollywood stars who mistake their celebrity for political importance, Chomsky does the same. I will listen to him when he stays in his field of psychology, however in the political world he is no wiser than I. I did listen to POV’s tapes. Chomsky’s world is still backa**wards and if you listen carefully you hear the sneaky psychologist getting in his digs under the pretense of charitableness.

Banquo's Ghost No one was listening? No one was listening? (69000 so far) We are. McCotter knows we are listening out here and that is whom he is speaking to. My guess is you did not like it, because it is so good.
By the way, I think McCotter sounds like a cross between Edwin R. Murrow and Winston Churchhill.

Reader,
Thanks for more info. on who BB is. He's becoming more and more who I thought all along. If he is who I think he is, he is GROSSly stupid!

Blogger said...

Chomsky makes one contribution to linguistics and to psychology. He postulates that humans are hard wired for language. He supports his theory with the observation that grammatical structure is the same across languages. He contested the Behaviorists’ view that words are learned from the environment through reinforcement.

Then riding on his fame as a linguist, he spun out of control, convincing himself he is a political savant. He isn’t. Because there is nothing original in him, he should have stayed where he belonged. In psychology, he is an original thinker. In politics, he is the same old same old monotonous liberal spouting tried, failed, and abandoned ideas. He is a political dinosaur.

Liberal POV said...

Blogger

I see you can still only attack the messenger.

Sarkazein said...

POV- You are using a misapplied theory in your "attack the messenger" thing. You linked to someone giving his political opinion. He is a socialist, so I know his opinion. What you are thinking of is if I had posted a link by Rush giving his opinion on the health-care bill, and you answered "He's fat and got hooked on pain killers'', THAT would be the "attacking the messenger" thing you are attempting to use.

Sarkazein said...

POV- It is a painful 7:54 minutes listening to the slow passive aggressive lecture from Comrade Chomskey.

Hate in his voice? I am guessing you are asking if I hear hate in his message, YES, of America, of conservatism, and of non "intellects" outside of academia. His voice drips with contempt for conservatives.
Why do you ask?

Sarkazein said...

In case anyone does not realize it, Banquo's Ghost and Hamlet's father are really BB, as Sark stated. He had to post a few times under other names in order to work up his courage to come back or the site. As usual, he made no valid points under any name.

Liberalproverbs18:2 has once again tried to support his opinions by quoting the opinions of someone else. He does not know what constitutes a fact and if he did he would ignore it as it probably does not support his ideology. Blogger hit the nail on the head. Chomsky may be a big fish in a small pond, but in the field of politics he is nothing but a minnow. Even in his small pond, I would wager there are many other big fish that do not agree with him. Hunt for some facts instead of opinion. Hint - the numbers that McCotter spoke of are facts, just so you will know what to look for.

Real Change...

According to the North Carolina Employment Security Commission, Alleghany’s rate rose 2 points to 14.3, Ashe County’s unemployment rate rose 2.8 points to 15.1, Avery’s rose 1.4 points to 11.1, Mitchell’s rose 1.4 percent to 14.4 percent, Watauga’s rate increased 1.2 points to 9 percent, and Wilkes Count’s unemployment rate rose 0.7 points to 14.1 percent.

Watauga County’s 9 percent unemployment rate is the sixth lowest in the state.

While the High Country is hurting, our neighbors in the foothills continue to struggle as the Hickory/Lenoir/Morganton metro area has the highest unemployment rate in the state at 15.8 percent.

The AP reported:

Health insurance premiums for young adults are expected to rise about 17 percent once they’re required to buy insurance four years from now. That estimate is from an analysis by Rand Health.

Young people will need to carry more of the burden of health care under the new health overhaul law. The new law limits an industry practice of charging older customers more.

Even so, the pluses could outweigh the minuses. Some 2 million people under age 26 should qualify for coverage under their parents’ health plans. And Medicaid expansion will insure 9 million more young adults.

FOR BLOGGER - OFF TOPIC

Chomsky makes one contribution to linguistics and to psychology. He postulates that humans are hard wired for language. He supports his theory with the observation that grammatical structure is the same across languages. He contested the Behaviorists’ view that words are learned from the environment through reinforcement.

I do not agree with Chomsky's theory. Sentence structure is based on the logical, slowly learned, expression of a theme. In order to form a coherent thought, a sentence must have a subject and a predicate. This has nothing to do with hard wireing as he puts it and everything to do with logic. All languages evovle from preceeding languages. This is why they change over time. However, all the way back to the point they converge, the logic of commeunication stays the same. At this point of origin, communication was learned by reinforcemnt and the enviroment. Differnet languages come about because of this as the environment changes, but the logic of communication, which was learned through repitition stays the same. Our environment causes us to speak the language with which we are surrounded. The logic of communication is the same, not because our brains are wired in a particular way, but because all language evolved from the same source.

Am I missing something?

Blogger said...

"a sentence must have a subject and a predicate" Guy, you wrote. I am not qualified to defend Chomsky's linguistic theory. However, what little I do know, I think you just made his point. Subject--predicate in all languages is his proof of a apriori linguistic structurizer before the reinforced specific words and phrase, in other words hardwired for language--my choice of word not his.

I only answered this out of respect for your intellect not because I care anything about Chomsky.

Blogger said...

POV, in the little bit I listened to of your recommended tapes regarding Chomsky, I stopped short when I heard the typical lying distortion of equating extreme conservatism in this country with Hitler’s Fascism.

THERE IS NO HISTORY OF CONSERVATIVES/REPUBLICANS IN THIS COUNTRY MAKING GRABS FOR CENTRALIZED POWER. On the contrary, a core belief of Conservatives is to devolve power back to the individual and to his or her state.

Today’s Democrat/Socialist is power-grabbing which eventually can lead to Fascism. This belief is why this blog exists. If Chomsky believes that threats come from the Right in this country, he is either disingenuous or an idiot and someone needs to call him out.

guy faulkes said...

Blogger thank you for your reply.

I still contend that apriori reasoning has nothing to do with it. I think that when language first developed it was by trial and error; it was then learned by repetition. The most effective means of communication was the one that survived as with anything else. The fact that it developed once and the process used was taught over and over again is not I know because I know. It is I know because I was taught.

However, I see where you could make the other argument. I just do not see it as valid.

Again, thank you for your trouble. This is good stuff to think about on the deer stand or while riding the tractor.

I will quit abusing the thread. I thank everyone else for their indulgence.
