Blinded, Double-Amputee Marine Re-Enlists

Tomorrow I turn 50. Matthew Bradford at 23 is twice the man I'll ever be and 10 times the man I was at his age. I'm so damn proud of our soldiers.
Semper Fi.

Our military does not have the luxury of worrying about politics. We do. Our fight does not compare with theirs but it's the least we can do. We are all fighting for America.

That was great! My birthday is tomorrow too, but I'm ONLY 49.

The men and I repeat men, with this much dedication to our wonderful country, should be taken care of until death. No if's, ands or buts. I wonder if any women have done the same?

Reader: You are SO RIGHT! It's only one of the things which infuriated me about the Bush/Cheney/Rove administration. Our men were sent to battle not properly equipped. They scavaged additional armor from scrap heaps. The were not properly outfitted to start, nor properly taken care of upon return. Walter Reed full of mold, and not fixed until a soldier's father took pictures and gave it to the media.

Disgraceful treatment of out troops!

PS: Happy Birthday.

We have the best equipped, best trained, best taken care of military and veterans in the history of the world.
To compare, our military with complete ballistic gear fighting an enemy in a night shirt and a towel helmet.

The Left, as in BB, is searching for the Utopian War.
Remember, "Peace Begins in the Womb".

More false indignation by the Leftist BikerBard: "Disgraceful treatment of out troops!"

BikerBard- I guess you missed it. In the original post, there is the words Semper Fi in blue and underlined. If you click on the Semper Fi you will be linked to a story worth reading.
Try it. Then see if you can come up with a worthy comment.

Yes, and you must also be outraged by Billy Clintons antics during Somalia when he let Army Rangers be dragged around the streets by thugs and criminals. Right? Are you outraged that Clinton would not allow our troops the armored vehicles they requested? Talk about sending your troops into battle with the bare essentials, Clinton makes Bush look like child's play.

And, oh great Cheerleader, what do you have to say about THAT!!! LOL

Tough questions, tough questions.

Your ole pal

On March 10, 2009, cnnpolitics.com published an article titled "Senators blast plan for wounded vets to use private insurance". I ask that this blog supply its readers with a link. It should send some light on President Obama's concern for our troops.

Happy Birthday HD!! Hope you've enjoyed your day. Thank you guys for your kind wishes.

Matthew Bradford posesses more valor than a lot of people I have come in contact with. I admire him. HD, I don't know you personally, but by the words you use, you are a good man.

Wolf, I hope your son is doing well and remember, I keep them all in my prayers.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Sark and Reader. I don't really celebrate birthdays but mentioned it because it blew me away that Cpl. Bradford was 23. I know our soldiers are young but on this day it had a deeper impact on my appreciation.

Anonymous,

Thanks for your interest. Reader (thanks Reader) provided the link and it is interesting. It does shed light on Obama...at least on the surface. Shinseki says only that it's under consideration. Since there has been no proposal, much less policy change, I think it's a bit premature to give the subject its own thread. There may be some merit or it may be Godawful, we just don't know enough. Believe it or not, I don't want to be unfair to Obama.
