ASHE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SECOND VOTE ON GUN RIGHTS

From the Jefferson Post
"Monday afternoon, the Ashe County Board of Commissioners will again vote on a measure that will restrict concealed handguns in county recreational areas.

In a 3-2 split decision on Feb. 6, Commissioners William Sands, Larry Rhodes, and Board Chairman Judy Poe voted to restrict concealed weapons in county recreational facilities including Beaver Creek Industrial Park practice fields, Family Central’s gym and ball fields, as well as Ashe County Park during organized county events. Commissioners Gerald Price and Gary Roark opposed the motion."

You have to wonder if they will continue to insist that someone playing frisby on a hiking trail means that the trail becomes an "athletic facility" and subject to these restrictions. There will surely be a court case on this!

As I said before, the state needs to repeal the legislation that allows them to ban anywhere. Please contact Jordan and Soucek and urge them to sponsor such a bill.

Canada turns Right. With their oil and their turn away from their Nanny State experience, I may become a Canadian someday. I hope there isn't a river I have to swim across, or a high fence.

Blowing Rock passed it's second reading of it's ban on Tuesday.

Do you think Councilmen Matheson, Steele, and Yount will feel any remorse after a criminla hurts someone that could had defended themselves if not for the councilmen's support of criminals?

More rights taken away from citizens. You are losing your rights like never before, and you say nothing. Wake up America, your not doing so well.

I just heard the town isn't going to have their hearing until April. They want us to forget about it so they can sneak it though.
