Dems For Santorum

The Michigan Primaries, while not strictly an "open" primary, do not require prior party registration to vote in a party's primary. All that is necessary is to identify yourself as a Republican voter on primary election day and you will be given a Republican primary ballot.
Apparently  the Daily Kos is supporting  a Democrat effort  to
encourage Dems to vote in the Republican Primary - and to vote Santorum.

If Santorum is the Republican candidate come November, I will personally support him - But, you have to ask yourself, why
is Obama running anti-Romney ads in Michigan? Why is the UAW? Why is the Daily KOS encouraging Dems to enter the Republican primary fracas on behalf of Santorum?

Because the Dems fear Romney more than Santorum.

Santorum is likely to "win" Michigan - but the Michigan delegates will be determined by Congressional Districct - not on a state wide basis. It is possible that a candidate could win the most votes at the state level, yet end up with fewer delegates than the second place winner who, with fewer total votes, won more congressional districts.

The difference in delegates allocated between Romney and Santorum will not be substantial. On the other hand, the Arizona primary is a "winner take all".

If the most recent polls are accurate, Romney will lose in Michigan, win in Arizona and take the majority of the delegates awarded in the two races.

Thanks for this post NewGuy. Daily Kos and Dems for Santorum tells it all.

We did that in the Texas primary in 2008. McCain was the winner by primary time so people, my self included, switched over to the Democrat primary. It probably evened out in that case, because many voted for Hillary to keep their primary going in case anyone from the MSM ever wanted to ask Obama a poignant question. But, many voted for Obama because they figured a freshman Senator, community agitator, with a self-admitted drug history and absolutely NO executive experience who is running buddies with a known terrorist, would ever beat a war hero with executive experience.
In this case (2012), liberals have already been convinced Santorum will outlaw birth control pills, amnios, gay-pride parades, HGTV, abortions, and make everybody eat fish on Fridays. So they think he will be easy to beat. It could backfire on them.

Let's get this straight (again). Romney lost to McCain who lost to Hussein Obama and we are going to nominate Romney to take on Hussein Obama? Huh? What stupidity in the Republitard Party! If this is all they can muster, we're done! A Yankee far left radical who mandated health care and gun control expects to gain conservative support to run againt someone who gave us mandated health care and wants to take our guns away.

Karl Rove and the other establishment RINOs were so afraid of the Tea Party which is why I can't understand why it went away.

One other thing. This fine conservative site should be rife with pissed off conservatives. Not seeing that. Why?

Johnny Rico- Ronald Reagan who lost to Ford who lost to Carter.

JR you said “This fine conservative site should be rife with pissed off conservatives” JR this time being pissed off just won’t get it. The stakes are too high. This year, those 49% who don’t pay taxes have been told by Obama they can have a free ride on the backs of the successful. If they come out again as they did in 2008, we will see the end of America as we once knew it. Anyone that the independents say they will vote for other than Obama can save this country and its future. The media has already been able to paint Santorum as an extreme social conservative. That is the last thing the majority of Americans want.

Romney cannot win. To many of us will not vote for him because the stakes are to high to put in an Obama clone.

Vote for the person you think you should. In my case this may be a write in candidate or no one at all.

Guy Faulkes- Out of the four candidates we have, any one of them could beat Obama. When a reporter finally puts together the picture of the most corrupt President ever in our history, in one Barack Obama, in a way that even the dumbest liberal (you know the kind I am writing about) can understand, he is gone. HOPEfully imprisoned for his looting of the US Treasury with the "green energy stimulus" money used to reimburse donors for his 2008 election.

Sarkazein said...

Also when Larry Sinclair comes up with a "blue dress" that also tests positive for cocaine, even the dumbest of low rent liberals (you know the kind I am writing about) will have to abandon Obama. Yes some will be driven deeper in love with him, but many will run screaming into the night.

Man Sark, I hope you are right. In a perfect world, your scenario should hold. However, if the economy keeps improving, Obama is a crafty person. He knows how to game the system to win. Only if Europe, the model he is copying, crashes will I be as confident as you.

Sarkazein said...

Just blowing off a little steam Blogger. If the economy improves, the liberals won't need a Nanny teat as much as they do when the economy is bad. Obama takes credit for anything good and is granted easily that credit by the MSM. He blames others for anything bad and is exonerated by the MSM and the liberal sycophants. Then we have our fair-weathered conservatives....

Sarkazein said...

If Larry Sinclair did come up with a "blue dress" the MSM would try to prove Obama was not the one of the two wearing the dress.

Blogger,

The media has painted Santorum as a conservative radical - your exactl right on that point. They also painted Sarah Palin, John McCain, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, and especially Michelle Bachman as radicals as well.

Do you not think they will do the same to Mitt Romney? They want him as the candidate as they know folks like me will never vote for him. They leave him alone for now, but wait till he gets the nomination and watch what happens. The largest smear campaign to grace the pages of all the liberal rags will take place. So why is Romney the man when he will fare exactly like the others that have been smeared? He has no magic pill to protect against the impending smear.

I believe America will be over as we know it. It's coming in about a year. A lame duck Obama will kick into high gear the things he has wrought these past 3 years. You will have no guns, liberty, or choice. If people can't see that, then perhaps they deserve what's next.

Real Clear Politics Average today is RCP Average Obama 49.8 Santorum 43.7 Obama +6.1

Those polls are voters in general or likely voters. It must not be including the hyper-sensitive Conservatives.

guy fau;lkes said...

What hyper sensitive conservatives are you talking about, Sark? Those of us that will not support Romney? What does that have to do with Santorum?

Sarkazein said...

Guy Faulkes- No, I was writing about the Romney 45% vs Obama 43% poll. It must have left out the hyper- sensitive Conservatives or it would have been a bigger spread. If the hyper-sensitive Conservatives were asked in the Poll "Romney or Obama?" it wouldn't have made any difference anyway because they would have said "neither". That would only have changed the outcome if there was a set number of those polled. BUT, it might have included the hyper-sensitive Conservatives because 48%+43%= only 91%. I am sure there are hyper-sensitive Liberals also. So combined they make up maybe as high as 9% and kind of wash each other out.

guy faulkes said...

Sark, according to what I have read, most polls heavily favor liberals and moderates due to the people polled and the questions asked. Conservatives do not effect polls as much as do the others because of these biased polling methods.

If you really think that conservatives do not matter as to the outcome of the election, why would you be concerned that so many of us are not going to vote for Romney?

Sarkazein said...

I am worried about your conscience if you woke up the day after the election and Obama was planning his destination 2nd inauguration. He wouldn't have it in DC, it would be in Hawaii or in the Hamptons or Kenya.

NewGuy said...

OK...the Primary Elections in Mich and Arizona are today. Santorum's latest ad is an appeal to Democrats to come out and vote for him in the Republican primary.

What this does is give Romney an "out" should he not win. He will claim that the Republicans voted for him but that Santorum's appeal to the Democrats was what lost him the primary.

In the end, it won't matter. As I said earlier, the delegates from Michigan will end up pretty evenly divided between Santorum and Romney.

Sarkazein said...

Those Arizonians obviously don't care about their gun rights or illegal aliens.

NewGuy said...

Now THAT'S funny, Sark! I don't care who ya are! =o)

We'll see????

Congratulations goes out to Rick Santorum ( with the help of Michael Moore and Obama's unions ) for his second place showing in Michigan. As Reagan won his birthplace of ILLINOIS (up North) it would have also been hard to beat Romney in his birthplace. Even though Reagan lost to Ford in the '76 primary in Illinois, he came back to win it in '80. NEWT-- where art thou?

guy faulkes said...

Sark, it doesn't matter because Romeny cannot beat Obama. He is just like the man child Messiah.

Sarkazein said...

That's what they said about Reagan. THIS fellow could beat Obama. Vermin L. Supreme could beat Obama.

Obama's record is what will beat him.
