From the Watauga Democrat
On the second-to-last day of candidate filing, the Watauga County Board of Commissioners gained one candidate and the Board of Education gained two.
Republican Tommy Adams filed for District 3 on the Board of Commissioners. Adams works in the real estate and golf industries and is a graduate of Appalachian State University with degrees in finance and economics.
Adams' filing Tuesday ensures that each of the three commissioner races will be competitive. Adams will square off against Democrat Billy Kennedy, who filed Feb. 13.

He will be going up against JW's candidate, Billy Kennedy. I'm sure the Dems will pull out all the stops on this one!

The following is from an article by David Rogers in the Blowing Rock News.

By David Rogers. February 28, 2012. BOONE -- Members of an iconic Watauga County family spanning three generations gathered at the Board of Elections on Tuesday, as Republican Tommy Adams filed to run for District 3 County Commissioner. He will oppose Democratic challenger Billy Kennedy in the November 6 election. The deadline for candidate filing ends on Wednesday.

Three generations witnessed Tommy signing, including, L-R, brother Art, grandmother Daisy, father Tom, Tommy, mother Mary, and brother Sammy
"My family enjoys a tradition of service and leadership in the community," Adams shared with Blowing Rock News in a Tuesday interview outside the Watauga County Courthouse. "I can't think of any better way to perpetuate that service to the community than running for County Commissioner."

On hand at the Board of Elections to celebrate Tommy's filing were parents Tom and Mary, 95-year old grandmother Daisy, and brothers Art and Sammy.

Tommy Adams disclosed to reporters that he graduated with honors from Appalachian State University with degrees in both finance and economics. While a student at Appalachian, young Mr. Adams served in a number of leadership roles. In the interview, he noted to Blowing Rock News that he remains committed to the university, including his current third year of service on the ASU Alumni Council.

Blogger...yes! He is, in my opinion, a great candidate and will make an excellent commissioner.
His opponent, Billy Kennedy, didn't generate much enthusiasm among the voters in his bid to unseat Virginia Foxx in 2010. I'm thinking they don't want to be embarrassed like that again.

This is excellent news. He will make a very good candidate.

It is going to be hard for the left to even lie about him. Their crap will all blow back on them.
