Life Begins at Vent Page XL

Here we go starting a brand new vent page, number FORTY in our ongoing series. And who better to start us off but the immortal Will Rogers who once said "I never met a Vent Page I didn't like!"

Whenever the number of posts on a vent page make it cumbersome to navigate, a new vent page is started. This is number FORTY in our series!

VENT PAGES are handy for posting of off-topic posts, rants, raves, rages, etc which might not be appropriate on other threads where adults are having serious discussions. Childish rant? Need to call another poster a name?Just feel like spouting off? Or even if you have something to say and there doesn't seem to be any other logical place to say it....THIS PAGE IS FOR YOU!!

Of course FORTY offers many opportunities...We could pay homage to the miracle fixer WD-40 - which solves most of the mechanical problems of the world which can't be solved with duct tape!

Junior's Current '40

Or we could celebrate the icon of the Wilkes County  bootleggers -the '40 Fords of Junior Johnson and the Call boys! These same 40Fords were a stock car favorite in the early days....before the modifications used in the bootlegger cars were so much more radical than what Nascar allowed!

Any comments on the following article? This fella has some interesting observations, especially the part talking about conservatives "un-assing" themselves to DO SOMETHING.

And here is the link to the article, sorry.

Becasue if we don't un-ass pretty quickly, this will happen.

Unbelievable isn't it? A game warden from CA goes hunting in Idaho, kills a mountian lion legally, and now the liberals are trying to have him removed from office.

This scenario will come to YOU, Mr. Conservative very, very soon. You deserve what's coming though. Perhaps YOUR loss of freedom won't hurt that much if they will let you keep that recliner, NFL programming, six pack of Coors, and Domino's Pizza deliveries.

From the first article you referenced....this says it all!

President Obama has admitted that it is his intent and prerogative, with the assistance of Senior Cabinet Officials and staff to “bypass Congress and get things done “.

Government no longer runs the way we were taught that it did. Now bureaucrats make the laws ....telling insurance companies what they must cover; telling auto companies what cars they must sell...deciding where Boeing can open a plant.

New Guy,

Yessir, we are just about gone. When Obama gets his second term, big brother will force you, at gunpoint if necessary, to buy a product for the first time in history. Amazing and sad that our own apathy and ignorance is to blame!

NewGuy said...

Just about gone, Johnny? I think I might consider that we have already gone past the farthest point I could have ever imagined back when I first read George Orwell's 1984.

We actually have a government employee examining the lunches that school children bring from home and making a determination if that lunch is "suitable" or not. Adults are not allowed to ride a bicycle in Boone unless they wear a saftey helmet. Cigarette makers are told what pictures must be printed on the packaging of their products. Some local governments are telling restaurants what cooking oils they must use in frying their foods. Land is being taken away from people who have lived there for generations in order to sell it to others who will use it for commercial enterprises. We have federal judges who want to limit your constitutional rights to "inside your home". Free speech zones! Government deciding that religious organizations must conform to rules decided by the HHW Secretary (czar). Tax dollars being used to promote the businesses favored by the administration (solar, electric cars, whatever) and tax policy used to penalize those businesses the government doesn't favor. We have an attorney general suing states that try to enforce the immigration policies that have been the law of this country for generations, yet refusing to defend laws (DOMA) which were passed by congress but which the AG doesn't agree with.

I wonder when we will think it's gone "too far"?

Yes, we may soon go to far!

The following article talks about the major cultural shift taking place in California in regards to hunting in general. This will spread to other parts of the US as the population continues its march towards socialism:

How come the local papers fail to report on the fact that ILLEGAL ALIENS are illegally harvesting galax on Grandfather Mountain? Large groups of aliens are apparently picking Galax patches clean. The profit that 5 or 6 illegal aliens can make picking Galax is tremendous. My bet is all illegal aliens caught by Park Rangers are let go. Anytime a white American "redneck" is caught doing anything related to the environment, hell's to pay. Why the disparity in our society?

It's possible that Romney doesn't want to win Georgia. If he wins there, Gingrich is likely to give up and drop out- at the very least, he would lose much of whatever support he may have left. This would halp Santorum much more than it would Romney....

Georgia's 76 delegates look like a big prize, but with the proportional allocation, it's possible for Romney to place second and still win a substantial number of the delegates.

Obama's press conference: did anyone else think Norah O'Donnell was looking at Obama like a lovestruck teenage girl gazing at a teacher she is smitten with? The look on her face as she asked if the Pres would like to say anything to Romney says it all.

NewGuy said...

I didn't see the press conference but I do recall not too long ago when Ms O'Donnell said to the president that the Republicans got everything they wanted and "we got nothing."

I don't recall any other major network reporter with such an obvious bias. It's like she thinks she is still on MSNBC.

New Guy,
I found it on the CBS News website -- it is worth a look. I'm on a mobile device and could not post a link. Please look it up and tell me if I'm imagining this (I almost hope I am).

Johnny Rico said...

Did anyone see act of valor yet? I saw it and was pleasantly surprised. The acting wasn't half bad and the dudes were complete studs. Finally a movie not afraid to cast combat in a positive light, except......

....Hollywood's continued reluctance to air a decent war movie set in the Middle East. Act of Valor took place everywhere except Iraq or Afghanistan. Mexico, Africa and the Phillipines were as far as they were willing to take it which certainly detracted from the movie's significance. Why the ban on kick ass war movies depicting American soldiers killing Muslim extremists? That's what I want to see. How about a decent sniper movie for once? America has snipers with over 200 confirmed kills on active duty right now. Not a peep.

If you get a chance, watch the movie "Hidalgo". Excellant movie which puts Muslims and their extremist religion in perspective. The lefty socialists had a fit over that movie too, but somehow Hollywood ignored them putting out a true classic.

Act of Valor is a neat movie; inspiring and provocative. 3 out of 5 stars. It would've been 4 out of 5 had it taken place where America is fighting right now.

I believe that the Nora Odonnell video that Nobody is referring to in her comments above, is this one:

http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7401121n

I am not sure since you can almost pick any Nora O'donnell -Obama story and see her gushing and blushing over him. It's like watching a teen aged girl at a Justin Beaver concert.

If you play the video without sound, and just watch the body language beginning at about the 1:45 mark on the video, you will see everything that Nobody is talking about.

Thanks NB!

Oatz, "Only in an Obama World in USA ! USA ! a racist slogan." The country has gone nuts. Are we still on planet earth? Next we will hear that the Star Spangled Banner at games is offensive. I actually became nauseous when I watched this. I agree, the election of Obama has emboldened some of the worst elements of the unamerican left in this country.

From Washington Post: More than half of Obama’s 47 biggest fundraisers, those who collected at least $500,000 for his campaign, have been given administration jobs. Nine more have been appointed to presidential boards and committees.

At least 24 Obama bundlers were given posts as foreign ambassadors.

Rasmussen Poll shows Romney 48% Obama 43%. Come on Wolf's Head, Guy Faulkes, and Johnny Rico... he needs your support to make it 48.00000000000001%

I would like to ask any liberal Democrat out there why the mainstream media has not covered the proof presented that Obama's birth certificate and Selective Service Car is a forgery. Why? Forgery is a High Crime. It is an impeachable offense. It could keep Obama off the ballot.

Sarkazein said...

Wouldn't it be ironic? Obama impeached because of his appetite for war.

Sark, Romney cannot win. If by some fluke, he does manage to do it, it will be without my support.

If you really trust this poll, your mind should be at ease. It apparently is not.

If I had not already concluded years ago that this man holds clandestine agendas, I would have been greatly disturbed as I read this linked article. Thanks Guy. If only all people who love God and love this country could read it. The concluding summary shouts the warning: “ The hostility of President Obama toward Biblical faith and values is without equal from any previous American president. Many of these actions are literally unprecedented – this is the first time they have happened in four centuries of American history.”

"...I sought in myself: the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela."- Obama( or what ever his name is) from above Blogger comment.

Dubois finally joined the Communist Party at age 91 after a lifetime of being a Socialist/Marxist.

HOW could this happen in this country? A child-like Marxist of unknown origins elected to the highest Office in the US?
