Joint Meeting of Watauga GOP and Boone Tea Party

From Boone Tea Party....

Joint Meeting of Watauga GOP, ASU College Republicans and Boone Tea Party...

It’s time for conservatives to gather, charge up, and get involved to defeat President Obama and restore our country to its founding principles!  Boone Tea Party is hosting a joint meeting of the Watauga County Republicans and the ASU College Republicans* to plan how we can work together to defeat Obama and elect conservatives to take back our government at the local and state level.
Speaker:
Karla Constantino, past president of ASU College Republicans
and current Chairman of Rowan County Republican Women
Time:
Thursday, April 19 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Place:
Watauga County Library meeting room
(use rear entrance, as the library will be closed)

*ASU students are invited to come ½ hour early (6:30) for pizza and refreshments

Karla Costantino is a 2009 graduate of Appalachian State University. While she attended Appalachian she was the president of the Appalachian College Republicans from 2007-2009. During that period she also served as a liaison between the university and the county party. Karla now lives in Rowan County where she holds several leadership roles, including president of Rowan County Republican Women. She is an active member of the Rowan County Tea Party Patriots and is employed as a Transition Specialist at Rowan County Youth Services Bureau. Karla attends First Baptist Church of Salisbury with her husband, John Wayne Costantino.

Since when did our party become a college party? We need real adults with real experience and real solutions, not 25 year old kids straight from the liberal indoctrination farm. I'm glad we're subsidizing free food for the college hippies.

Lennie, when you were 25 years old, were you a liberal college hippie?

I was not. I have always been conservative.

One cannot say that one is liberal or stupid because they are young. Neither can one say older people are conservative. Also, not matter what your politics are, being old does not necessarily make you wise. The only thing it makes you with any certainty is old.

I thought the Tea Party didn't affiliate itself with either party? Another Tea Party propaganda piece I assume?

When I was 25, I (or any of my friends/colleagues) didnt have the experience needed to find real world solutions. The fact that the Boone so-called "tea party" would bring in a kid as its main strategist is horrendous. ASU serves only to train future liberal soldiers.

I guess it depends on your personal experience, Lennie. When I was 25 I had been doing a grown man;s job for twelve years.

I was just finishing putting myself through college without any handouts.

While I agree that ASU is viraly liberal as an institution, I feel it is wrong to paint all young people with the same brush. Age is not the sole indicator of either knowlege or experience.

I am sure any conservative liberals or indepentents would be welcome all so. The Tea Party is apparently doing some policitcal profileing as to where they are most likely to find those opposed to Obama.

This is a smart move. Maybe some liberal Republicans can be shown the error of their ways so they will move back to the parties ocnservative roots.

Look at any job requirements for anything more than entry-level work...."experience required". According to the press-release, Mrs. Costantino's only "experience" is a year or two of organizing meetings of conservative women in Salisbury.

I'm embarrassed to think Boone's "tea party" finds that experience enough. It's as ridiculous as liberals thinking The Obamanation's community-organizer experience was enough. We see how that turned out.

When I was 25, I was married, had 2 kids and was serving in the US Air Force.

Most of our military is probably 25 or younger.

I think Lennie is merely projecting his own inadequacies onto others he doesn't know.

Lennie- The Tea Party is grass roots, not an Olde Guard status quo.

The issue is not her age, it's her experience. Or lack of. I guess this must be a group of liberal rejects who thought The Obamanation's community organizer experience was enough experience. Are there any real conservatives left out there!?

Lennie, I would venture to guess that you would look like Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin when compared to The Wolf and me.

Just because you did not gain experience while being young, it does not mean others have not.

Out of curiosity, what experience do you have? Have you ever ran for office, been part of a campaign, etc? Do you run your own business? Are you responsible for the direction in which your business goes?

By the time I was 25, I had done most of those things.

Lennie said...

That's exactly the point. She has no experience.

guy faulkes said...

Lennie, how do you know? No one knew about me?

If you continue to ignore the young, before long you do not have anyone.

As you do not like the speaker, I guess those in attendance at this meeting will have to do without your company. I think they may survive.

This is not good. The Tea Party needs to stay officially non-partisan. If we meld with the Republican Party, we will validate every lib who ever said we were really the Republican Party in disguise. I repeat, this is not a good plan.

Sarkazein said...

So Steve, where is the Tea Party candidate for President?

Tea Party Steve said...

As the notice says, this is for all candidates, from top of the ticket down. We the Tea Party need to stay away from either political party or we lose all credibility.

As far as I know, there would be nothing to keep a Democrat candidate from attending.

A lot of liberals get a lot more conservative as the get some real life experience but a young conservative has head start. Young of age or young of heart, all welcome. Get a grip Lennie!

Tea Party Steve wrote-"We the Tea Party need to stay away from either political party or we lose all credibility."

So who do you support then? Do you have to, by Tea Party standards, keep your mouth shut about who you support? I think we are in different Tea Parties. Why have other self-identified Tea Party people endorsed candidates? What Democrat candidate is Tea Partyish? Who is the Tea Party candidate for President?
