Gun Free Zones are hunting preserves for innocent people.

An Opinion On Gun Control
by Larry Correia

I didn’t want to post about this, because frankly, it is exhausting. I’ve been having this exact same argument for my entire adult life. It is not an exaggeration when I say that I know pretty much exactly every single thing an anti-gun person can say. I’ve heard it over and over, the same old tired stuff, trotted out every single time there is a tragedy on the news that can be milked. Yet, I got sucked in, and I’ve spent the last few days arguing with people who either mean well but are uninformed about gun laws and how guns actually work (who I don’t mind at all), or the willfully ignorant (who I do mind), or the obnoxiously stupid......

Good arrticle! Click here.

Larry is a great guy and a real patriot. His article is excellent.

His books are also alot of fun, especially for gun nuts such as myself.

This is one of the best articles I have ever read. He makes the points that most pro-gun people have been trying to make the anti-gun dolts understand for the last 40 years.

Please take the time to read it thoroughly, despite its lenght.

Thank you for the link.

Obama can't get a budget going in 3.5 years, but can get an anti-2nd Amendment Bill going in a couple of weeks. He can't fix long term unemployment, a huge deficit and an avalanche of debt-- but anti-individual rights legislation and Executive Orders... no problem.

It took Obama FOUR MONTHS to give the order to assassinate Osama on sovereign foreign soil after getting getting his address and home builder's floor plans. It only took a few weeks to pull the trigger on his attack on the 2nd Amendment.

Sark....before the election many of us were predicting that his first move if reelected would be an attack on the second amendment.

Those who didn't vote against him are partly the blame. They will also be faced with his Supreme Court choices before his term expires.

Obama has a socialist agenda...and the constitution is not going to prevent his shenanigans...He will likely be overturned by the Supreme court IF the cases get there before he has appointed enough liberals to support whatever he wants to do.

As the thread has degenerated back to the presidential race, Romney would have done the same thing at a slower pace. At least this way people will fight it.

NewGuy- The people who didn't vote for Romney are similar to those who voted for Obama. Just as Obama gets no blame for anything from his voters, Romney will get blamed for things people think he might have done by people who allowed Obama to win by not voting for Romney.

Even though there are quotes all over the place from the Obamaists that they will take advantage of crisis to promote their Leftist political agendas, Obama will not be chastised by the MSM for his despicable and predictable news conference about gun control.

There is something in the (weak) mind of the low information voter that requires them to ask the government to pass a law when something bad happens.

A homosexual gets murdered? Pass "hate crimes" legislation that makes it an offense to murder someone because of their sexual orientation. As if murder for another reason is acceptable.

Tragedy involving a nut with a gun? Restrict guns....never mind that restrictions on drugs, illegal immigration, etc havent worked. Never mind that most of these "incidents" occur in "gun free zones"...Never mind that the places with the highest crime rates are also the ones with the most restrictions on honest citizens second amendment rights.

It's understandable that people want to "do something" when a tragedy occurs. It's just unfortunate that they want to deprive others of their constitutional rights in order to "do something".

It's equivalent to requiring everyone to have an ignition interlock device on their automobiles because some people have caused tragedies by driving drunk.

...but if it saves just one life...

NewGuy said...

How will it save any lives? Do the gun restrictions in Washington DC...which apply to all citizens except perhaps for David Gregory...save lives? Looks to me that dc MURDER RATE is high - probably because only criminals have guns. Same in Chicago. You want stronger gun laws? Here's one I support....make it 9illegal for any federal agent to sell guns to felons as part of a supposed "sting" operation. Prosecute those that do and also prosecute those they work for because of their complicity in the scheme.

In the meantime, 3,000 babies a day are being murdered by people who receive taxpayer funding for their participation.

Here is another interesting article by a leftist gun owner that agrees with this thread.

AUSTIN — The Texas attorney general has launched an Internet ad campaign inviting New Yorkers who feel their state's new gun laws are too restrictive to move to Texas.
Anyone accessing a variety of media sites from Manhattan or Albany starting Wednesday may be confronted with two pop-up ads.
One reads, "Is Gov. Cuomo looking to take your guns?" Another says, "Wanted: Law abiding New York gun owners looking for lower taxes and greater opportunity."
Paid for with Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott's campaign funds, the ads reference the nation's toughest gun control law. It was signed Tuesday by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
The ads link to a Facebook site proclaiming, "Keep your guns, move to Texas."
The site says Texas has no income tax and created more than 275,000 jobs in 12 months.
