Then Governor Ann Ma Richards first vetoed the shall issue bill after the Luby's mass murder Dr Gratia-Hupp witnessed. Ma was then voted out of office and replaced with then Governor George W Bush. He signed the bill into law. Ma Richards went on to become a lobbyist for the tobacco companies... W went on to become President.

At the time, there was NO legal way for citizens to carry a handgun in Texas. There were only 'defenses to prosecution'. There were no permits of any kind. Neither open carry or concealed (handguns).
The liberal courts (Feds) were letting criminals out of the state prisons because of over crowding by the hundreds. Ma Richards was asked- "How are you going to protect the people?"
She answered- "I will protect them like they were my own family." The voters saw this as a complete disconnect from reality... it was. She got the silver foot up her wrinkled butt.

I hate to say I told you so, but news anchorman Gregory, the idiot who held a 30 round magazine up for all to see on national television in DC where such magazines are highly illegal, was not charged yesterday. Amazing. Funny how Gilbert Arenas, a black basketball player, was sent to prison for 2 years and made a felon because someone said he had a pistol in a locker room. Now we have a white liberal elitest who can hold up an illegal 30 round magazine for thousands to see in that very same city and not be charged.

Any liberals care to comment on the disparity between blacks and whites when it comes to possessing weapons? Anyone care to deny gun laws are racist in nature. Yet another ruling by liberal elitests that supports my assessment.

Another example of an inanimate object that was made illegal to carry is a self opening knife known as a switch blade. These used to be a favorite of working men as it allowed them to hold a wire or other materiel that needed to be cut in one hand and open the knife with the other rather than having to put the item down to open the knife. Then somehow it became politically correct to view these tools as the weapon of choice of minorities such as Hispanics and blacks. As a means of racial bias an inanimate object was banned.

Yes there were people killed with switchblades, but it is inevitable there were people that saved themselves with one also.

No inanimate object is good or bad. The people that use them are. Fortunately the vast majority of these people are good.
