This is where only libertarianism will work. The Republicans need to show more libertarianism. This carves away, from both sides, the fringe Morris is speaking of.
People who voted for Obama/Obamacare will grow to hate government control, even those seeking a government paid abortion. Libertarianism (less Ron Paul's version of defense) is the only thing that can unite people. The fringe, who are low information or can't make themselves vote for anyone who is impure of Conservative/Liberal thought will be so marginalized as to make no difference in anything except their own thoughts.

Will we be marginalized o will become the dominate party eventually? Only time will tell.

In either case the Republican party is dead without its base, no matter how many liberals it tries to attract.

Morris is just another establishment Republican that cares more for his position than the country. Who gave your the more accurate prediction of the Obama - Romney race, Morris or me?

What Party? Even the Libertarian Party, the Socialist Party, the Green Party and on and on have not even been close. It has to be the Republican Party. If we are going to be about freedom, we have to let people make their own mistakes in life. Making some of those mistakes a crime ain't freedom. The Republicans have to be about less government and less government laws. We are doing well in some state elections because of areas that lean Right. We are not doing well in the national election because it includes all areas. And it includes Democrat poll workers who vote multiple times for Obama. They are helped by Right leaning voters who don't vote or who are patiently waiting the second coming of Reagan.

What Party?

The party that takes over after the death of the Republican party is finally recognized or the Republican party itself.

It is going to take some time to get rid of the party first establishment and return to the conservative base in one manner or another. The establishment Republican party has to die and it be admitted they are dead in order for this to happen.

We are doing well in many state elections because those states ran conservative candidates that gave people a choice. We are not doing well in liberal areas because those areas are going to vote Democrat regardless of how liberal the Republicans try to become.

Sark, how many times do we need to keep repeating our opinions? Neither of us is going to change the other's mind. I think we may be boring others on the thread.

How about it, Do the rest of you want us to stop?

That would be the Democrat Party (Party that takes over). Thank you. And the other 3M....

guy faulkes said...

The Democrat party has already taken over in the Presidential races. If the Republicans could not beat a man with Obama's record, they cannot beat anyone, Sark.

As you know, I was referring to the party that will eventually replace the Republican party.

You did not answer the question so I will repeat it. Who gave your the more accurate prediction of the Obama - Romney race, Morris or me?

In 3 years and 11 months, this will all be over.

He did not make it, did he? He never will until the party changes back to its base.

I would like to think it more possible Romney lost because of the MSM's infatuation with Obama, the lies told by Obama to a gullible electorate, voter fraud, Romney's life's successes becoming a negative to weak minds, the bribing of the electorate/special interests with tax money, and the lack of understanding how important it was to get Obama out of Office.

This is why only Libertarianism can save the country. As the electorate becomes more like children demanding a Nanny State, they will also pick the parent who is the least demanding of their own personal responsibility. We have lost that battle for now.

guy faulkes said...

Your thought process is indeed possible, Sark, but it is more probable that Romney';s actions on Romney care, anti-gun issues, abortion, and promoting big government as governor stopped his support among informed conservative Republicans.

It probably does as both Sark and Blogger appear to be party first Republicans. There are many that feel the same. To these people, the conservative base must seem like suicide bombers.

Many other Republicans feel as I do. Of this number, a goodly umber have left the party or are leaving it.

All I can say is BOOOM! When you nominate someone worthy of support, I will support him.

Guy in my mind, I cannot understand anyone who did anything to help Obama get reelected to sink this country. Nothing, nohow, noway could have made me not vote against him. I have loved this country too long for that. At the same time, I guess we all have our own discomforts with the Republicans. Mine are the Social Conservatives. I can’t square my Libertarian instincts with trying to control peoples’ private lives. We lost the Senate two times and with the youth vote and single women, maybe even the presidency, because we fielded four Social Conservative dingbats.

guy faulkes said...

The difference in you and I, Sark, is the reason the Republican party is dead. Neither side is going to persuade the other that it is wrong.

I am ready to move on to the next level because I realize this. I am not sure the same can be said for you.

Do you really think the Republican party will ever field a viable Presidential candidate again? I do not. I do not think there is anyone on which the two sides can agree.

Sarkazein said...

Guy Faulkes you wrote- "Do you really think the Republican party will ever field a viable Presidential candidate again?"

Yes. Whether it be a popular middle of the roader, as Morris is suggesting, or a popular libertarian... it is up to the people who vote in the primaries. But a Gingrich or a Santorum or a Ron Michaelmoore Paul or any other politician who can't convince the tens of millions who vote to the Right won't have a chance.
The Left is about to realize they voted for the Nanny from Hell. And some others who held the door open for him.

Sarkazein said...

The column on the left of the link lists ALL the conservatives and libertarians who did their best to rid the US of Obama.

guy faulkes said...

Maybe you are right Sark, but I do not beleive so. As far as I can tell, the base is more critical of the party every day.

Of course you did say a moderate and not a leftist such as Romney. Therein lies your only hope. However, calling a leftist a moderate is not going to work.

Sarkazein said...

Guy Faulkes- I too am ready for a viable Third Party. I could use a nose job, but I will keep the one I have rather than cut it off to spite my face.

If there was going to be a viable Third Party candidate, he/she should have started in December of last year. The Tea Party should have had one last election. They don't even have one this coming election. What are they waiting for?

guy faulkes said...

What are they waiting for?

The Republican party to return to its base. This is not going to happen. It will take a while and some Republican defeats to enable a third party to be formed. It is coming.
