Vent Page LXXVI - The Vent Page With SPIRIT

That's the spirit! The spirit of Vent Page 76!

VENT PAGES are handy for posting of off-topic posts, rants, raves, rages, etc, which might not be appropriate on other threads where adults are having serious discussions. Childish rant? Need to call another poster a name? Just feel like spouting off?  Or even if you have something to say and there doesn't seem to be any other logical place to say it....THIS PAGE IS FOR YOU!

Our choice for the 1976 automobile icon may be the ugliest American Automobile produced in the last half of the 20th century....The American Motors PACER!
Pacer fans will argue that the car was not 'as ugly as it looks' and they may be right in many ways. It did have the cab forward design - the wide stance resulting from pushing all 4 wheels further into the corners and, it even had rack and pinion steering.

No matter - I could never get past the ugly look of the fishbowl on wheels! On the other hand, this Pacer Ad which was used to advertise the car in French magazines, did make us appreciate the rounded back end a little bit more.

As a strong tea party woman, I find the ad on this page objectifying and wrong. NewGuy, you are a pig.

Sarkazein said...

Anonymous 3:14- If the ad offends you, you are neither a Tea Party woman nor a strong woman. You are weak and a whiner and way too fragile to even look at a political blog, much less comment on it.
Of course you are probably joking.... but just in case.

Sarkazein said...

Of course Anonymouse could be talking about the Pacer. And I think all were offended by its design.

Sark, I thought Anonymous was just being sarcastic. The post was to asinine to be otherwise. Reader and Rico, what do you think?

Sarkazein said...

GuyFaulkes- It is probably a joke. If not a joke, it is a liberal thinking they can make a Tea Party woman look bad. Although, it could be someone very close to NewGuy.

Reader said...

No offense taken from me. It's an ad, no big deal. Maybe a little envy from me.

NewGuy said...

Not likely someone close to me, Sark....My guess is that it's one of our trolls or else, as you said, a liberal who is posing as a conservative woman.
I think the comment speaks more about the writer than it does about me - I thought it was ridiculous enough to be funny.

If it were serious (doubtful) then it's an indication of how pitiful some people have become when they can't find something to be offended about so they focus on a magazine ad showing a fully clothed woman. My suggestion to the poster (if your post was intended as a serious one) is for you to remaion in your house, unplug your tv; cancel your magazine subscriptions and, for GOD'S SAKE, STAY OFF THE INTERNET!

As a woman who supports both the Tea Party and true conservatism, I cannot see why the add would be offensive in the least. This is nothing more than fallout folks - from the outing of liberals cavorting as conservatives. I've pushed them back into their slime filled pits, and they're mad as hell right now. LOL!!!!

Has anyone noticed that liberal socialist sheep won't say a peep about Snowden. They are caught in their own liberal paradox. On one hand, liberals claim they support transparency and whistleblower. On the other hand, said whistleblower has just uncovered a vast conspiracy which points towards their savior - hussein obummer.

Now they simply try and act like this is something not worthy of mentioning. LOL!! I love to mention this inconvenient truth to liberals just to watch their retarded reactions!!!! Good stuff.

any liberal socialist sheep care to weigh in on hero Snowden? LOL!! My guess is we'll hear crickets.

Snowden is a hero.

We all knew this was going to happen sooner or later. The question is whether Boone is going to appeal the decision yet again, thereby wasting more taxpayer monies in its persecution of Templeton.

Democratus Rex said...

Curious. Why is it so important to have this "medical clinic" at that address on State Farm Road? I am unaware of the demand for such a facility as there are any number of other suitable locations available.

NewGuy said...

Should you want to develop a project at one of those other "suitable locations", then you should go ahead and do so.

In this case, a developer determined that building a medical office on a piece of property zoned for that purpose might be a prudent investment. It's his money and he should invest it based on his evaluation of the market - not your opinion as to whether or not such a project is "needed".

Democrats seem to be very focused on deciding how other people should spend - or invest - their money. Perhaps you should make decisions on what to do with your own money and let Mr Templeton - and other investors, make decisions on what THEY want to invest THEIR money in.

Meanwhile, the town of Boone (using TAXPAYER money) has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in an effort to keep Phil Templeton from building projects on land zoned for those projects. Money that they would non likely have spent had it been a different developer - one whom they favored.

Democratus Rex said...

So, Templeton has decided to put a medical center, that is not needed, that the public does not want, to spite local government and public wishes?

It's just like conservatives to use their money to bully and browbeat because they want something that suits them, not the public at large.

guy faulkes said...

Well said, NewGuy. You beat me to the punch.

guy faulkes said...

DR, the free market will decide if the public at large would support a medical center at this location.

As to it being needed, have you tried to get on a doctor's patient list as a new patient lately? If you do try, good luck, because most of the people I have talked to in that situation says it is very difficult. My own doctor said he had all the patients he could handle and that the postulation grows faster than the number of doctors available to treat it.

Democratus Perplexed,

I see you felt the sting of my last couple of posts. Fighting for freedom is not one of your strong points is it? LOL!! It is one of my strong points however.

I also see you dodged the inconvenient question about Snowden. So tell me Perplexed, is Snowden a hero or traitor. This ought to be interesting (if we can get the liberal to bite off on this one!!). LOL

Look at Mr Hagar from the good ole NC Legislature. This is from his updates page.

How come Hagar never addresses gun rights on his updates page? Even under the "Bills to Watch" he dodges the gun debate. Another weak kneed leader.

This is exactly why the RINO Republicans in our legislature need to be voted out during the next election. They act like liberal Democrats and have not an ounce of guts between them (heros Jordan and Souchek not included in this assessment).

THIS is why this country is in the shape it's in. Hagar needs to go as do many many other RINO Republicans. Hagar would make the idiots over on Watauga Watch blush with pride. The Watauga County Commissioners are included in this weak kneed assessment as well.

Jus’ saying wrote on the wrong thread: “I have been watching the Zimmerman trial. If I am ever charged with murder, I hope I get that prosecutor.” Jus Saying, I wouldn’t sell the prosecutor short.
How would you like having to try this case? All the police officials knew the shooting was justified and didn’t charge him. The DA knew it. This whole trial is a travesty. The prosecutor is having to do this lynching because the prosecutor has Al Sharpton’s gun to his and the governor’s heads. Cut the prosecutor some slack for goodness sake.

Sarkazein said...

Blogger and New Guy- If you do start a thread on the Zimmerman trial, GuyFaulkes should have some strong general insight on the use of deadly force and perhaps a prediction on the verdict. I would like to read it.

Watauga Watch has reached a new low. The whole blog doesn't have one comment on it, at least that they didn't censor.

Yes but it is still fun to watch JW spit and sputter about everything! What a miserable human being.

I, USS Rodger Young, claim credit for killing the Watauga Watch Blog. I brought truth, for once, to that site and they couldn't handle it. So they began censoring me and a few other truth tellers in an attempt to dodge the truth. It made them look pedantic and unreasonable. They were never able to recover from those glorious 2 years of Rodger Young bashings, and now their blog has collapsed. I feel good about it actually; you know, kind of like the feeling you get when you whip an unruly child - at first you feel sentimental and sad but after a few years you get to watch said child grow up to be productive.

In the case of Watauga Watch, you were hewn down to size rather easily and were unable to adapt to one basic element - THE TRUTH. Now you dolts are withering on the vine.

Stings don't it.
