It is vitally important that we recognize the continuing crisis at our southern border and I strongly support taking action to secure that border and otherwise strengthen our national security. That is why I supported legislation on February 15 that Congress approved to provide an additional $22.55 billion in discretionary funding for border security activities, including 55 miles of new physical barriers, surveillance, technology and personnel to combat illegal immigration and human and drug trafficking.
Additionally, you will be pleased to learn that I voted against the resolution of disapproval to override President Trump's declaration of a National Emergency. Rest assured, I will keep your thoughts in mind should additional relevant legislation come before the House for consideration in the future. (Bloggers emphasis)
