Democrats or Republicans Which are the Meanspirited?

Our commenter Gregg, responded to another commenter who accuses conservatives of spreading divisiveness and meanness. Gregg wrote “politicians who spread divisiveness and meanness,” you gotta be kidding. That's just more meaningless feel-good crap. Who is more divisive and mean than Democrats? Pelosi denigrating protesters as Nazi's; Dick Durbin comparing Bush to Pol Pot; Harry Reid calling Bush a loser; John Kerry saying our soldiers were "terrorizing women and children"; Van Jones saying Republicans are "assholes"; Howard Dean saying he hates Republicans and all they stand for; John Murtha accusing the since exonerated Haditha soldiers of killing in "cold blood"; Al Gore calling bloggers "digital brown shirts"; Maxine waters with her "Neanderthal" comment; etc. and on and on. It's Jimmy Carter who is making a mockery of honest debate by interjecting race. Obama looks sincere in his speech saying he wants to work with Republicans but it is BS. He acts insulted when Joe Wilson shouts "You Lie" but then uses the same term in the same paragraph in the same speech in the same hallowed chamber. That's just the public officials.
Remember the typical Bush protest?(Scroll to end) It's Democrats on this very blog who constantly tell us how evil we are. It's Democrats that foment this resentment toward achievement–a resentment of which nothing good can possibly come. It's Democrat's that want to divide us on race and be judged, not by the content of their character, but by the color of their skin--look no further than Skip Gates or Rev. Wright.
Why don't you stand over here with us liberty lovers who care about the truth more than ideology?

Rep. Foxx on 222nd Anniversary of Constitution

WASHINGTON, D.C. Sept. 17, 2009 Today is the 222nd anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution, also known as Constitution Day. U.S. Representative Virginia Foxx made the following statement
on the occasion of Constitution Day:
“More than two centuries ago 39 patriots put their names to a document that changed the course of history. This document chartered a lasting experiment in democracy and put our nation on the path to becoming the world’s strongest and freest democracy.
“Our Constitution remains the foundation of our unique system of government and individual liberty. It is a resilient and timeless charter. It is a towering achievement in the cause of freedom. It is, above all, a monument to America’s founding ideals.
“As a member of Congress it is an honor and sacred duty to protect and uphold the Constitution. I hope that many Americans will find the time this week to read our Constitution and be reminded of our many freedoms, of the genius of checks and balances and of the privilege it is to be an American.”
Note: The Constitution can be read Constitution onlineat the National Archives’ web site. Any 5th District constituent who would like a hard copy of the U.S. Constitution can contact Foxx’s office at (866) 677-8968.

Answer to a Reader's Question Regarding Liberals
I guess my questions are rhetorical and I'm not sure there is an answer but I do know it's very sad”
Blogger answers: Gregg, thanks for the question. As a psychologist and a former liberal myself, I ponder your question all the time. Following is one of my answers to myself:
We are all familiar with the line from Hamlet “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.” Shakespeare is identifying what we psychologists term reaction formation. Hollywood is fond of picturing the tight-lipped puritan who is hiding secret lust in his heart. To guard against the feelings, even from himself, the puritan lashes out at the evil anywhere he sees it. In other words, he protests too much.
One suspects reaction formation when someone loses it over something that is not really that provoking.
Rage, when one is personally threatened, makes sense. Rage against other people’s attitudes which carry no personal threat, does not make sense. The question we use to ask one another as kids is “What’s it to you?”
So when I get intense reactions on this blog for example, which are not proportional to the provocation, I ask myself: “Am I dealing with a reaction formation?” Does this person harbor secret thoughts that are not politically correct, but hiding them even from himself? Is he really as compassionate as he tries to make himself believe?
Or, if I had such a person in psychotherapy and he felt psychologically safe, would he confess to himself who he really is? If he did, he would be cured and could go through life at peace with himself and others.
This Post Addressed to Our Liberal Readers Re Afghan War
This post is addressed to our liberal readers and not our conservatives. Bush’s war had mission creep from weapons of mass destruction morphing into nation building. Now, Obama’s war is mission creeping from destroying El Queda, to war with the Taliban and attempting nation building..
Liberals, without Bush to kick around any more, now what?

Did Dowd Reveal Unconscious Racism?
The New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd wrote: that when Joe Wilson yelled “You lie,” she heard: “You lie, boy!”
Because none of the rest of the country heard that word boy, where do you think it came from in her?
Washed Up Main Street Media on the Acorn Story
This is MSNBC's take 3 days after story broke. Worse still ABC's Charlie Gibson was asked today (7 days after the story first broke) why ABC World News had not run a juicy story that included prostitution, pimping, misuse of government funds, and finally a vote by Congress to cut off funds for a major group with ties to President Obama. Can you believe that Charlie Gibson answered that this was the first time he had heard of the story, but it did sound interesting!

Democrats Hypocrisy in Wilson Affair
I WROTE CONGRESSWOMAN FOXX THE FOLLOWING:
"Dear Virginia,
Regarding Rep. Wilson, if Pelosi is going to say that there is a rule of decorum in the House which automatically requires censure, please tell our leadership they need to demand such a rule be applied retroactively. Accordingly, from the archived films, every Democrat who broke "protocol" by booing President Bush in 2005 must be identified (in office and now out of office). Each of them will have to publicly apologize first before Rep. Wilson is required to.
The hypocrisy will immediately be exposed.
If someone implies that you now have new rules, then our suspicions will be confirmed that Democrats believe they have installed our first imperial presidency."
Sincerely,

No Real Bounce for Obama's Healthcare Speech
President Obama’s speech to Congress Wednesday night has provided at least a short-term boost in support for the health care reform plan that he and congressional Democrats have proposed. But the bounce is partisan in nature, with the increase in support coming entirely from those in the president’s own party.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national tracking survey shows that 46% favor and 51% oppose.READ MORE Rasmussen Reports

Foxx on healthcare: Americans “fed up with Washington’s tin ear”
WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 8—Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (NC05) made the following statement before the House of Representatives today, calling on Congress to pursue healthcare reform that puts patients, not big government, first:
“Mr. Speaker, it was a long, hot August for
many members of Congress who returned home to face the displeasure of constituents fed up with Washington’s tin ear syndrome.
“Over the past month I have heard from more people than I can count who have had enough of the explosion of Washington-style big government. And of course it was no comfort that in the middle of August the White House announced that they expect $9.1 trillion in new government debt over the next ten years.
“So how is it that the American people are expected to stomach a new government-run healthcare proposal that is estimated to cost up to $1.6 trillion?
“Let’s scrap the current government-run healthcare proposal and return to the drawing board for a plan like ones Republicans have offered that put patients, not government, first.”

Obama and Our Children

To begin with, knowledgeable conservatives have no problem with a president of the United States inspiring children to stay in school and work hard. However, this president brings some baggage.
1. Because, the White House colluded with the Department of Education on the offending accompanying lesson plan, they undoubtably violated federal laws. What alarmed Americans were the guidelines to teachers to do things like have children "Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president." After our firestorm, the DOE changed that sentence for the little children, but not for high schoolers.
This is all creepy because it suddenly turned to being all about Obama. It sounded too much like “How do we help our Maximum Leader,” not “how do we help our country.”
2. A second problem is that this president has turned out to be the most politically polarizing president in recent history. Instead of becoming the president of all Americans, he has stayed in campaign mode. From the get-go, he demonizes Republicans, continuously blaming them for everything that went wrong prior to his arrival. He has never acknowledged that some of the real culprits were congressional Democrats, the likes of Barney Franks and Chris Dodds. They, (along with some Republicans), created much of the near economic disaster.
Now, Obama continues to try to convince us that his problems in pushing through his current programs are all the fault of the opposition party.
Bottom line, everything this president does has become political. So, pardon us if a large majority of us have our radars turned on anytime he speaks--always watching and waiting to hear the subliminal political message.

Getting Use to Obamacare
I grinned and replied: “You realize we just had an Obamacare conversation. One day, a bean counting bureaucrat behind a computer in Washington will get a report from a Boone physician saying, “We have a healthy 80-year-old and a 60-year-old. The 60-year-old has debauched his body but both need the same expensive procedure.”
The Obamacare puppet responds, “That is a no-brainer. The computer says, ‘go with the youngest’ Offer the 80-year-old the pill. That’s how its done in Europe.”

Letter to Kay Hagan Not to Wreck the Country
Dear Senator Hagan,
Lately, I see your name listed among the freshman senators who have not yet become imperious. The August gatherings have revealed a political class in Washington no longer responsive to constituents.
This letter is to beg you to be one of those who will not support using the resolution process to ram the government controlled option for health care down the throats of American people.
You know that using the resolution process will be a bastardization of the system. It is corrupting to the Senate. It is starting the Senate down a slippery slope for future sessions. It will enrage Republicans and even many Independents and likely create the feelings of impotence which lead to militia forming.
And, if the slightest thing goes wrong with healthcare, especially for the senior citizens and those baby boomers on their way, your party will have no cover. Americans do not tolerate cheating, which the resolution process is in these instances.
