The Face Of The Tea Party

Pam Stout is the president of a Tea Party Organization in Idaho. She is the opposite of what the tea partiers are portrayed as in the media but she represents everything they stand for. No "Astro-Turf" here. It's the most organic grass roots movement ever. I'm not a fan of Letterman but I have to give him credit for having her and treating her with respect. How could you not?

The Hug Lady

Every now and then a story comes along that warms the heart. This is one of those.

Divisiveness

Since Obama was elected is an honest debate on race even possible?
Are the poor more or less resentful of the rich since Obama?
Are Democrats getting along with Republicans to produce bi-partisan legislation?
Have relations with allies like Israel and Britain gotten more combative or less?
Who is the most divisive President ever?

Answers: No More No More Obama

The Truth Cannot Be Denied

Something's got to give. We've lost the Presidency, control of both Houses and the argument. Does it matter that the debate that led to these circumstances was dishonest? No, the result is the result. Yes, it's a crying shame but why cry?

Today's Democrat party led by President Obama is the enemy of America. There, I said it. I mean it and if that statement bothers you then you're part of the problem. The time for equivocating is over. This is the real deal.

The liberals righteously accuse conservatives of the very things they are guilty of...shamelessly. It takes unmitigated gall for liberals to say conservatives are spoon fed talking points from Rush or Fox News. It's the left that are mind-numbed brainwashed robots. Their race-baiting is hideous yet they paint us as the racist. Now they are trying to smear tea party protesters as violent. They will not let facts get in the way of slander. They invent boogie-men like the "angry white male". They concoct events like the bogus epidemic of black churches being burned down by racist. They really are quite vile.

We need to hit back hard. We must make the hate-mongering liberals put up or shut up. They can't paint tea party protesters as violent because the tea partiers are not violent. They even clean up after themselves. We can paint the unhinged left as violent because they are. Republicans don't want to play that game but it's not the same game. We have the truth and it needs to be defended and trumpeted. That's the last thing the Democrats want, truth.

Obama expanded hate crime legislation to include homosexuals. Before the tea party movement the term "teabagger" could elevate violence against gays to a hate crime. I don't support hate crime legislation but I hope some gay tea party protester brings charges if some lib bloodies his nose.

Does anyone know how many of our brave soldiers have died in Afghanistan? The press doesn't care anymore. Last month was particularly bad. Maybe we should bring the "death count" back but as a way of honering the fallen instead of calling them war criminals.

There is still a lot of time until November but we can't waste it. All that is required to take back the country is for the truth to be known. Does Obamacare fund abortions or not? Yes, the Executive order means nothing. Does it now cover children with pre-existing conditions or not? No, not until 2014. They lied and they lied big. The whole thing is a big lie. It's provable. It's undeniable. They said Bush lied and people believe it. It's stupid and we let it happen. Step one has to be convincing our fellow Americans Obama is a liar and his policies are a complete disaster. That is without a doubt the truth.

There is the question of sustaining our anger. I don't think that will be a problem as more is learned about the bill and the process. This is especially true with the S.O.B. thumping his chest in a most divisive arrogant manner. He can't help himself because he's not a nice man. Most Americans are not stupid.

Watauga County Republican Men's Club Established

Tonight, the Watauga County Republican Men’s Club was established. Someone may be able to write in and tell me, but perhaps this was a first.

Twenty-four enthusiastic men gathered (many more entered late) to accept the bylaws, connect up with the North Carolina Federation of Men (an organization shooting for all 100 counties), elect officers, and listen to local, state and national candidates.

Something is in the air. Typically, first time candidates reveal their lack of experience, while the more seasoned sound mechanical. Not this crowd! Just as in the Tea Party, local candidates’ messages ring with genuineness and come from their guts. Our country as we know it is under siege and like the Minutemen of old, people are rising up to bring it back. (As mentioned in an earlier post, for the first time in years Republicans have candidates for every local and even for every state office and the candidates are outstanding.)

If any of you are interested in joining the Republican Men’s Club, call 828.719.0738 or email:
Tpa.adams2@gmail.com and ask to be placed on the email list.

Watauga County Republicans Meet

With standing room only, approximately 70 members of the Watauga County Republican Party Executive Committee met at the Builder University Conference Center. They announced the founding of the new Republican Men’s Club. The Republican Women’s Club reported an exciting growth in new members. “Obama is bringing them out of the woodwork,” the club president reported.

Pam Blume, party president, introduced the chairs of 10 new ad hoc committees. Each chair described the goals of their committees. New technology is being put into place to send announcements and important information to everyone signed up for e-mails. Speeches from many local candidates followed.

A member of the Ashe County Tea Party informed us of their meeting to be held April 24. They plan to have a caravan of cars to go from Boone with horns blaring and flags waving. (Time and place to be announced.)

Dingell Dangles The Truth In Front Of Everybody

Thanks to Sarkazein for the tip.

John Dingell (D-MI) tell us what we already know. It reminds me of the time Howard Dean said tort reform would never be addressed because the Democrats were beholdened to the trial lawyers. I'm no fan of Dingle (or Howard Dean) but I give him credit for being honest.

The Next Generation Prepares Themselves for the Nanny State

Following up onOnslow, the prototype of the new American, I read an interesting Wall Street Journal op ed on the campus eruptions by students in California. The op-ed writer Peter Robinson: “In the midst of the Great Recession, California students protest in favor of themselves.” “So what were the young people demanding?” “We have here the vocabulary of the peace movement, of the struggle for decent conditions for migrants and other exploited workers, and of the civil-rights movement. Yet what did the protesters demand? Peace? Human rights? No. Money. And for whom? For the downtrodden and oppressed? No. For themselves.” “The protests did offer students a certain kind of instruction. They taught them to replace the idealism of youth with the crassest self-pleading.”

The Future Prototype American

Do any of you watch Onslow on the British sitcom, Keeping up Appearances? Onslow is the future prototype American under Socialism. He spends his day watching sports on the tele, yelling to his wife to bring him more beer. Onslow has great regard for himself because of his contribution to the country. As he says, “I am doing my part for the economy by spending my welfare check.”

Escape From the Holocaust

I use to attend lectures by the Jewish psychiatrist Fritz Perls M.D. One day he told us the story of his escape from Hitler. He related how his intuition kicked in and alerted him that Jews were in danger. His Jewish friends, doctors, lawyers, professors, prominent professionals of all types, chided him saying he was being ridiculous, that he was just overreacting. Because they admired him, they even begged him not to take his family and leave. They assured him that harm to such prominent professionals was beyond imagination.

A few years later, safe in South Africa, he began to receive the stories about those who had told him that nothing bad could happen. The very ones who told him he was foolish to leave, were being stuffed into the ovens of Auschwitz.

Perls taught us to pay attention to our instincts and intuitions. It could save our lives.

16,000 New Agents to Check On Americans

The Obamacare bill calls for the hiring of 16,000 IRA agents to make sure you do what you are supposed to do. If they come to our door, will there be some way we can identify them as being from the government?

Projecting Hate

The effort to demonize and discredit the tea party continues. As usual, the press and commenters on this blog are parroting the party line. The "party line" goes like this: Tea partiers (they use a different term) are mean-spirited, gun totin' racist. They mainly point to two incidents of late. One is the report of spittle and racial epithets being spewed at Democrat lawmakers. The other is the horrendous treatment of a victim of Parkinson's disease.

Before we get into specifics I want to make my beef clear. I don't appreciate decent Americans being painted with the broad brush of bigotry. I strongly believe the mainstream media pour through hours and hours of audio and video in frantic search for mere seconds of evidence. If they can find one jerk in the midst of ten thousand patriots then the jerk will make the news and the patriots will be painted as jerks. The media are parrots. They parrot to the sheep. The sheep are voters. If they can't find a jerk they will invent one. It's a mess.

Much has been made of the treatment of Congressman Emanuel Cleaver and others at a recent tea party. If this happened it's inexcusable. I can't imagine the average tea partier condoning such behavior. That doesn't stop the slander. While I don't doubt this incident could have happened, there is no video or audio that verifies it. There is video of union thugs beating up peaceful protesters but no coverage.

The jerks harassing the man with Parkinson's Disease is similarly disturbing. There is video but it's short and out of context. The crowd in the background is yelling something but I can't tell what. More than likely they put a stop to the harassment after the video was cut short. No one had their finger bitten off. No one was hurt.

The zeal of the left to portray tea party protesters as unhinged is astonishing. The tea party protesters are true patriots. They are informed. They are angry at what is happening to our country and peacefully assembling to voice their opinion. How can any freedom loving American object to democracy in action?

John Boehner Asks and Answers

John Boehner's emotional speech on the House floor was dead on. Can anyone refute it?

Democrats and Americans

There is no such thing as a "Moderate Democrat". There are just Democrats and Americans. Some pundits, such as Sean Hannity and Dick Morris, warned Bart Stupak was a fraud. They were right. Obama's promise to issue an executive order to remove the abortion language is a big lie. It's cover for Stupak's clan and nothing else. Mike Pence said it well, "Only in Washington D.C. could you exchange the pro-life protections enshrined in the law for thirty years for a piece of paper signed by the most pro-abortion President in American history." Once the President signs the bill it's the law of the land. An executive order cannot trump law. If it could then why have a legislature? Obama knows this. Stupak and his clan know it as well. It's a sham. It's a shame.

How is Our Gun Fight Going?

The very astute observer Chuck Todd said the following on Meet the Press today:

“The issue of health care gets at the philosophical divide between democrats and republicans. I’ve asked many a republican and many a democrat, (on the issue of polarization) its healthcare coverage, is it a right or a privilege, this is a philosophical divide. On this issue, it shouldn’t be surprising we are sitting here so polarized. It’s the fundamental reason someone is a democrat believing in a more activist government or a republican keeping government smaller.”

Chuck went on to say, there may be less polarization on some future issues which will be regional, but this issue matters to all Americans.

I posted the above when I realized how much we, on this blog, have been fighting the good fight as we reveal the great divide. How well do you think both sides are doing so far?

So Much For Obama Charisma

After delivering 54 speeches and statements on the issue of healthcare, Obama still had to bully, bribe, threaten and intimidate to drag a teensy weensy majority of his own party screaming, resisting and kicking across the finish line. So much for his great charisma.

Pray for America Tonight

One large Christian group with thousands of members, sent me this today:

We are asking all of our members to pray in earnest, and for those who feel called to fast to do this for the resolution of the crisis over the pending healthcare legislation. We believe the passage of this legislation will create serious crises in the nation on a number of fronts, including constitutional issues, because of elements in the bill. Because of the manner in which congress is seeking to manipulate passage of the bill will even further exacerbate growing divisions in the nation that are already at dangerous levels.

1 - For America: Our past (repentance) and our future (seeking His will and ways)
2 - For our Leaders: At all levels - in secular and church government.
3 - Regarding the Healthcare Bill: For truth to be revealed and courage to be granted to our leaders to read it, to stand and vote with conviction, courage, and character.

Peggy Noonan--It wasn't Worth It

Peggy Noonan is always good. She is especially so in today’s Wall Street Journal as we come to an end of preparing for the health vote. She writes:

“And so it ends with a health-care vote expected this weekend. I wonder at what point the administration will realize it wasn’t worth it–worth the discord, worth the diminution in popularity and prestige, worth the deepening of the great divide. What has been lost is so vivid, what has been gained so amorphous, blurry and likely illusory. Memo to future presidents: Never stake your entire survival on the painful passing of a bad bill. Never take the country down the road to Demon Pass.

Are Democrats Suffering from Folie à plusieurs ?

For days now Democrats have been closeted with their leaders and not being allowed to go home to their constituents. When this happens, a dangerous group think can occur. We can see such psychological disorders as the Stockholm syndrome which is a psychological response sometimes seen in abducted hostages, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger or risk in which they are being placed.

Another psychological problem that can occur is Folie à plusieurs ("madness of many")–a shared psychotic disorder . For example if you have ever been in an emotionally charged group, you may realize later that you became temporarily possessed until you extricated yourself from the group.

Brain washed is another psychological disorder. Brainwashing is accomplished by pulling people out of their reference group and then holding them in a new reference group. Cults work this way.

Pay your money and take your pick, or add your own.

After the Party, Democrats Need to Check Themselves Into an Asylum

I met a man who suffered from serious Bi-Polar disorder. He was describing a manic state he got into one day. On that day, he remembered a Parisian hot dog he once enjoyed. His mania increasing, he bought a ticket on the Concord, flew to Paris, had his hotdog and returned to the states.

Of course, as his euphoria subsided, he came to himself, realizing he had maxed out his credit cards and had no money to meet the bill. He checked himself into a hospital.

Yesterday, Democratic leaders of congress were describing their mental states as being “positively giddy.” Whoopee.

In Bi-Polar, mania is followed by depression, and meanwhile the credit card bill comes due.

ObamaCare, a War That Has Just Begun

America will be in a constant health-care war if ObamaCare is enacted. Passage wouldn't end the health-care debate. Rather, it would perpetuate ObamaCare as the dominant issue for decades to come, reshape politics, create an annual funding crisis in Congress, and generate a spate of angry lawsuits. "Nancy Pelosi calls it "deem and pass," but the phrase sure sounds more like "Demon Pass." Fox News. Still Number One

Public Policy Polling found in January that 49 percent of those surveyed trusted Fox News. In contrast, only 39 percent trusted CNN. Next came NBC, including its sister network MSNBC, with 35 percent. Least trusted were CBS with 32 percent and ABC with 31 percent.

That trust shows up in ratings and profits. While competitors have been laying off employees, Fox has been expanding.

Among cable networks, top-rated Fox News drew an average of 2.4 million viewers in prime time between Jan. 26 and Feb. 22, according to Nielsen Media Research. CNN was in second place with 1.2 million viewers; MSNBC posted an average of only 949,000 viewers.

White House Spinners Lie About Health Reform Polls

On all the talk shows this morning the White House spinners kept saying a recent poll reveals the gap against the health reform bill is closing. They lie. Have any of you readers seen such a poll?(Particularly driving us crazy out here is with all the evidence against them they have the cajones to proclaim: “The American people want this.” Those guys should have to pay for the TV sets that get smashed.)

The Real Clear Politics Average which averages all the polls performed during 2/13 - 3/8 finds 41.3 Support, and 48. Against/Oppose, a +7.6 spread. (Some polls during the year had as much as a 20 point spread Against) The last time there were several simultaneous polls finding more in favor than against was in early September of last year. Ever since, the polls have shown consistent rejection of this bill.

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds that 42% favor the plan while 53% are opposed. More significant is that these figures include just 20% who Strongly Favor the plan and 41% who are Strongly Opposed.

Although polling data is not complete, out in those conservative states where Republicans won in the past but went Democrat on Obama’s coat tail, some estimates of those now in opposition are as high as 70% opposed. Those are the representatives who are being asked to fall on their swords to save their dear leader's derriere.

Virginia Foxx and the Tempest in the Teapot

Every time we mention Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, commenters to this blog start rattling tea-pots. For the umpteenth time, here is the story of the teapot museum.Carolina Journal

A family named Kamms had a traveling exhibit of their collection of teapots at museums around the country, enjoying "spectacular attendance." They wanted to find a place to permanently house it. Cities like Atlanta, Chicago and others asked for it. However, hearing of the financial devastation that outsourcing had visited upon Allegheny County, in an act of compassion, they offered to donate the 6000 items worth more than $5 million.

An economic impact study determined that the project would attract 61,000 visitors annually and $7.5 million in new tourism spending. Tourists are always looking for unique attractions and Sparta is only a few miles from the Parkway and driving distance from two major interstates.

People like to mock the idea of a teapot museum because of the way it sounds. However, if you live in North Carolina, you may remember another idea that sounded strange. In 1981, a collector started selling hard to find silverware in a little building near Greensboro. As ridiculous as that sounded at the time, today Replacements has 415,000 square foot facilities (the size of seven football fields!) housing an incredible inventory of 13 million pieces in more than 300,000 patterns, some over 100 years old! Even the Greensboro Interstate bypass now goes directly to their door.

Who is to say, that something on a smaller scale could not have happened in Allegheny County if only the people of Sparta could have caught the vision. Today, Sparta still has little industry and the people hurt. Scripture says “Where there is no vision, the people perish."

FIRED UP WATAUGA COUNTY REPUBLICANS MEET

Filling the large courtroom with enthusiastic delegates, the Watauga County Republican Party held its Annual Convention Saturday, March 6. After a powerful prayer by Nannett Franklin, we settled down for business, led by Fifth District GOP Party Chair, Dan Barrett.

Fifty-eight delegates were appointed to attend the regional and state conventions. The 5th District Convention is April 17th at the Wilkes County Courthouse and the State Convention is on June 5th in Winston Salem.

In a light moment, Dan appointed burly William Byrd, candidate for Sheriff, to be Sergeant at Arms. Pointing out that in this exciting year, we have candidates for every office, so it would necessitate holding each speaker to one minute. Approximately 17 candidates or a representative spoke, and sure enough, they held the line at one minute. One candidate, a lawyer did comment that he thought it bordered on being criminal to hold a lawyer to a minute.

Pamela W. Blume is the new Chairperson of the Watauga Republican Party. In her comments, she told of how uncomfortable it is to move from behind the scenes to up front. However, that the discomfort is nothing to the discomfort we are all feeling about what is happening to our country. She asked the delegates to remember that and go out and work.

Alex Hage reported that 12 ASU students attended CPAC in Washington D.C. Also, in the news is that for the first time, there is an active Republican club at the high school. The Republican Women are always active, but this year a Republican men’s group is forming.

Candidates who spoke (or their representatives). Jeff Elmore (NC Senate 45); Dan Soucek (NC Senate 45); Jonathan Jordan (NC House 91); Virginia Foxx (U. S. Congress 5); Van Keith Gardner (U. S. Congress 5); Hal Harrison (N.C. Superior Court Judge); Gary Gavenus (N.C. Superior Court Judge); Bill Leavell (NC District Judge); Lowell Younce (Clerk of Superior Court); Wanda Howell (Clerk of Superior Court); William Byrd (Watauga County Sheriff) Nathan Miller (Watauga County Commissioner); Vince Gable (Watauga County Commissioner); David Blust (Watauga County Commissioner); Delora Hodges (Watauga County School Board); Dr. Lee Warren (Watauga County School Board); Jim Smith (Watauga County School Board).

Following are excerpts from some of the resolutions:

Appreciation for Congresswoman Virginia Foxx:
WHEREAS: We wish to thank Congresswoman Virginia Foxx for her years of dedicated service representing the people of North Carolina’s Fifth District and her strong stance against wasteful spending, growing national deficit, corporate bailouts, unreasonable executive bonuses, intrusive Comprehensive Health Care legislation, costly and ineffective Cap & Trade legislation, and liberal indoctrination;
RESOLVED: That the Watauga County Republican Party and the NC Republican Party expresses a heartfelt THANK YOU to Congresswoman Virginia Foxx as she continues to fight for ethical and moral behavior within the U.S. Congress and the people of the Fifth Congressional District of North Carolina.

NC Dept of Public Instruction Curriculum:

WHEREAS: The curriculum proposal would require that the teaching of U.S. History for two years at the high school level would incorporate only the reconstruction period from 1877 through present day history:
RESOLVED: That the Watauga County Republican Party requests that the N. C. Department of Public Instruction finalize its curriculum proposal such that the high schools of NC will have a complete teaching of U. S. History from pre-colonial times to present day.

10th Amendment Protection Protection Against Federally Mandated Health Care
WHEREAS There are many federal government mandates in both the House and Senate written Health Care bills which are in direct violation of th 10th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States,
RESOLVED: That the Watauga County Republican Party supports the proposed “Health Care Protection Act” which the Republican leadership in the NC General Assembly is introducing to protect the 10th Amendment rights of NC citizens.

There were additional resolutions that, when time permits, will be included at a later date.

Thanks were extended to Aaron Whitener outgoing Chair. Above all was the feeling that this year, Americans want back those with pride in our country, and the values of the founders of this great nation. As Rep. Virginia Foxx was expressing her gratitude for the people of the 5th District who represent so much of what is good about America, she was overcome with emotion.

Isn’t this a great place to live, or what!
