New Authors & Comment Moderation


Thanks for your patience! After a week of vetting new blog authors, we thank every single one of you who were interested.

We have three new authors! All authors will use the name "Admin" here on this blog. Our authors are:

  1. A PhD in Political Science
  2. A local (WNC) business owner
  3. An (WNC) elected official
Additionally, comment moderation has now been removed! In the first week of this new format we received far too many comments with racial/ethnic epithets and other untoward language - thus the need to moderate. We are happy that these horrid comments have ceased and that we can return to open commenting!

Well that was quick. We’ve been forced to reinstate comment moderation by those who have chosen not to respect the three basic tenets of this blog.

Trolls are fine (and expected) but language that promotes and/or glorifies racism, fascism, and authoritarianism is unacceptable. This blog is no longer a local outpost for Qanon.

A note on comment moderation: We know that this minor inconvenience is frustrating. There is, however, precedent in the matter.

There was a time in which Blogger and NewGuy were forced to moderate the comment section. We are following their lead during this transition period. We remain committed to a politically conservative voice that does not openly promote and encourage racism, fascism, or authoritarianism.

What conservative principles do you support/espouse on this blog?

We support the core values of political conservatism:

--Limited government intervention
--Capitalism/pro-business
--Free trade
--The ability for each citizen to exercise their Constitutional rights without infringement
--Hoover's "rugged individualism"

Sedition

Following the January 6th attack on the Capitol, the seditionists have gone into deep hiding!  Blogger, Sark, Guy, Wolf, and the rest have sunk their heads down in the hopes that we will overlook their multi-year cooperation in this anti-American farce that is Trump-ism.  Even the the aptly-named "Nobody" who attempted a competing blog following our departure from racism/fascism/authoritarianism has deleted  her own content after the coup d'etat. (Note that "Nobody" is the reason why we are moderating comments for racist and fascist content...probably explains the blog deletion).  Hear it here and hear it loud - fascism and authoritarianism are not welcome here.
